Here in Y!A I've noticed we tend to stick to the categories we feel most comfortable with (ex. for some it's Psychology or Philosophy and for others it's Polls & Surveys).

I've taken to answering overlooked or neglected questions to try to help others (sometimes in subjects I was previously unfamiliar with). I'm also learning about the Discovery section of Y!A. Hopefully this is benefitting me as well as others.

I'm curious how the rest of you manage to get yourselves out of your "comfort zones". Thanks in advance.

By answering unfamiliar questions, I mean I do research first on the net then answer. The internet is a powerful research tool.

Read through open questions on the home page.

Anything that sounds interesting or familiar, take a look.

If i know (about) the subject - i answer.
If i do not, but have a meaning - i give it.

As another user said - it`s the Nike commercial - just do it.
