Everyone has flat abs... its the layer of fat over your abs that makes it not-flat. Doing ab exercises will tone the muscles under the layer of fat, but will not change the overall look or shape of your tummy. Since its impossible to loose weight in a targeted area, your best bet is to manage your weight to a healthy level. Good thing is, doing crunches (support your neck to keep away from injury!) leg lifts and sit ups will do everything a machine can, except cost you money!

I'd say curl up's. Doing a few a day should do the trick. Also, sit up's will do.
