You know, the plains of this country-- indeed, the jungles of most of the tropics, and the sands of the deserts-- are littered with the bones of "heathens" who refused to have "some sense drummed into them," and who were then slaughtered by "good Christians."

Your sort of thinking went out of fashion about 150 years ago.

I haven't been too successful in making you religious nut cases go away, but I'm trying really hard every day.

Nah, see, us Heathens already do quite a bit of drumming. Got a wonderful bodhran for that, actually - delightful instrument.

That said, the bodhran sounds just as wonderful being wrapped around someone's head as it does being played, so I'd recommend thinking twice before trying to beat sense in to any of us.

you can't drum sense into people who are firm in their beliefs or lack thereof. Talking to Atheists is like talking to a brick wall. The most success comes from people with open hearts who may be unsure of Christianity.

errrrrmmmm . . . I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and guess that you have absolutely NO idea that "heathen" is a term referring---in both modern and ancient contexts---specifically to followers of indigenous Northern European folk religions also known as "Odinism" or "Asatru?"

I thought not.

Not only are our Folkways a whole lot more sensible than your mumbo-jumbo, we're also sometimes called the "pagans with guns and swords" . . . you might want to rethink that "drumming" strategy entirely. ;-)

By not calling them a 'Heathen'.

Why don't you start by teaching yourself how to respect others and to be open minded. Also try to look at yourself in the mirror if you might need to have some sense drummed into you first.

If you tell people how to live their life and yet you yourself aren't any better how're you gonna convince anybody?

Geez...

You, dear lady, are a troll. A judgemental, bigoted, loathing troll.

Where do you get off asking this type of question? Just because someone (gasp) thinks differently than you do, you think we need to have some of your so-called "sense" drummed (beaten is what is implied from what I gather by your question) into us.

You certainly have a lot of gall, lady.

I think you've got it backwards. I think you meant to ask, "How will you heathens ever drum some sense into us Christians?" Rational thought is the province of atheism, remember?

Why don't you, as a Christian, love your fellow man.

Drums are best played when making beautiful music. Use your talents and gifts to show the world love, and perhaps some will receive that love.

God has chosen the foolish things to confound the wise. How do you perceive that "sense" will help anyone find God?

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. He that loves not knows not God, for God is love. "

don't,because I believe in believing what you want.spirituality is better than religion.God talks directly to your conscious with love.he is accurate, not the religious text written by man.anyone can say there religion is God inspired but that does not make it so.you need to reevaluate your thinking.Gods voice guides me to help others, not a book of mans doing.I am no heathen just because i am not christian.
