A few days from now I am planning to have my upper lip hairs waxed by my hairdresser. For almost two years now I have been bleaching my upper lip. Ever since I shaved it in middle school (stupid, I know), I've had thicker, darker hairs there.

If I get my upper lip proffessionally waxed:

Will it grow back darker?
Will it grow back as stubble?
Will it grow back thicker?
How long will it last?
How long will it be red for?
Will I get bumps?

Thanks!

It doesn't grow back any thicker or darker, those are just old wives tales, though it may appear that it is. It will grow back as stubble, just as if you have shaved it, though it will take longer to come back in, usually in about a week.
How long it will be red for depends on how sensitive your skin is, some people say they are fine after 1/2 hour, when I had mine done I was still a bit red (more of a pinkish color)the next morning.
You can get bumps, but there is no way to know for sure if it will happen. The bumps happen when the hair begins to grow back but turns back on itself instead of going through the skin.
Hope this helped a bit. BTW.. just be prepared for the pain, my lip was the most painful waxing I've ever had done(eyebrows, legs, bikini area)

If you get it waxed, you'll have to wait until it grows back to get it waxed again, because it has to be a lil long. You can use nair face hair removal cream, it's easy to use, and it only takes about 10 minutes, but it does grow thicker and darker, because the hair you had before was sun bleached, naturally. With any method you use. And, once you wax it or something, you have to keep doing it forever, because it looks awful, like u really have a mustache. I used nair, and mine wasnt bad at all, but when it grew back, you could really tell.

I'm an esthetician (the waxer!)
it won't grow back darker
it will feel more stubbly just b/c you've never had it trimmed short before
it won't grow back thicker, it will just feel this way b/c of the stubble
how long it lasts depends on your own hormones...possibly a couple weeks
it may only be red for 15 min- 30 min depending on how sensitive your skin is
You may get some irritation from it, slight breakouts from irritation of your follicle, that's normally about it.

I even have the gentle blond hair on my top lip that i'm able to work out and anybody else says that they are in a position to't. I in lots of circumstances flow to outstanding Sam's or between the close by hair salons to have my top lip waxed. For $10 to $15 that's well worth no longer having to inflict soreness on myself or concern approximately following the instructions suitable.

I'm no professional, but i heard that shaving will make it much worse than waxing. i got my lip waxed while i was getting my eyebrows done a few weeks ago but it grew back rather quick. maybe that was because it was my first time. but no, its not thicker or darker. no bumps, but it will be red for an hour or so because it is irritated. good luck!

No to the first 3
lasts for several weeks
red for maybe an hour max
not usually unless you're super sensitive

after several waxings there is much less hair as it grows back
