Good things are worth waiting for, and this is one of those. Bobby turns 7 on the 1st day of September, and that day marks the beginning of a wonderful long weekend of Labor Day.
Now, how best to cap off the long weekend? By celebrating with Bobby at his party on September 5th. Come and join us for (whatever you are serving).....(and the location etc)

usually kids dont mind,my daughter never has hers on her exact day!
if you even have to put that its late,Id say something like we will be celebratins "his" bday on the 5th not the 1st,but you may confuse most people,so I wouldnt even bother with it,just put help celebrate "his"bday on the fifth and not worry with it!
its not too big a deal around here as most of our friends children have bdays in the winter and wait to celebrate when its warmer,or during the week, waiting till the weekend
