2 bedrooms 10x10
1 room 12x20

They all need to be painted white. Some walls are currently red, blue, gray, yellow. Under the circumstances, they must be painted professionally. Thanks.

There's a couple guy's in my area, who will paint those size rooms for $90.00 each. As long as it's one color and they don't have to do major surface prep.

There is no way to answer you without knowing where you live. In areas where the cost of living is higher or when you are hiring someone more skilled, you will pay more.

In this case - you get what you pay for.

You can buy some college kids a few pizzas + the cost of the paint. Or you can pay a lot more, but get someone who will prime it apropriately, and do not underestimate someone who is a good trim painter. Someone can make or break a room depending on how they handle the molding, door frames, cutting in around doors, etc.

Be wary of someone who will take weeks to paint your rooms - but be realistic - they are going to have to return to let primers, etc, dry. But a painter that uses their time well will rotate between the two rooms and may just have to come back once or twice versus 20 times in a row.

There are some variables that you didn't include with your question that will determine the actual costs involved. For example, who get's the rooms ready for painting (moving furniture, etc.) - you or the painter? If it's the painter, does the job include include putting the furniture back in-place? Does the job require painting all existing moldings (base, door/window trim, etc) with a high-gloss white paint as opposed to using what's going on the walls and ceilings or will the one color be applied to everything? Is there any major prep work required prior to painting (filling or patching holes)? What type of paint is on the existing walls and ceilings? Flat, low-lustre satin, high-gloss? All of these questions must be answered prior to arriving at a final price for any painting job, since a painter will charge accordingly for all of these "extra" tasks. Assuming the following: You will make the rooms ready for painting (moving furniture out, and back in), all rooms to receive one color on everything, no separate paint for moldings, small amount of patch or fill work required (no major patching), all rooms currently have either flat or low-lustre satin paint The total square footage for all rooms, including ceilings is 1,372 sf (assuming 8'0 high ceilings). Assume a base coat of a good-quality primer/sealer paint ("Kilz" or equal), plus one top-coat of good-quality flat or low-lustre satin paint (Sears "Easy Living", Behr, or equal), this job should cost between $1,000 to $1,200. Local pricing will determine the final cost, and it could be less (or more) depending on where you are located.

Since you are going to need a minimum of two coats to cover those colors I'd charge you between $900 - $1200 depending on if it took 2 or 3 coats. Spend more on the paint and it shouldn't take 3 coats.

You should be paying approximately $700.00 for the job. At about $1.50 p/sq./ft. at 440 sq. ft.

Make sure the painter uses good quality paint that is not watered down. They may charge more if they have to use both a primer and two coats of paint to cover dark paint colors.

I am a painting contractor of over 20 years and all the posters who gave you figures around 1000 would be correct...give or take a hundred bucks or so.

We're paying a painter $300 paint inc. to paint our girls rooms. They are 10x11 & 11x12 this includes painting everything (2 colors), ceilings too (white).

Those colors are difficult to cover with white and will need at least three coats.
Get three quotes. IT's the fairest way.
