Some people encourage us to hope for miracles everyday of our lives.

If their wish came true, then statistically, miracles would become the norm. When miracles become the norm and become normal physical laws, they are no longer miracles. If everyone is s superhero then nobody is a superhero. The existence of the rich depends on the existence of a comparable poor class of people.

Then some people would say, "We should all believe in miracles because even child birth is a miracle." That is just aliasing the meaning of the word because I might as well say, "Hey, I believe in miracles because my being able to shake my leg or suck my thumb is a miracle too."

What is Miracle? Can it be defined as a statistical abberation that the Almighty deign to incur as an expense to normality only under dire circumstances? What about "The gods must be crazy" phenomenon? Like a parent did something ordinary but the toddler thought it was a miracle.

Miracles are just statistically low events or fictional events claimed to have happened that cannot be proved.

You make a very good point. We do see miracles everyday, and accept them as commonplace. However, when I was very young and I was being passed around for family gratification, and had no one to turn to for comfort, I did have angels come to comfort me. Also when my aunt was on her death bed, she took me to the place where she was going. Another time I was raped and my rapist was gonna kill me. I was removed from my body and sat to one side watching and listening from a distance. When I was returned to my body, my rapist was crying and took me to a friends house to be kept for at least two weeks. Many other things have happened. We just need to stay open in our soul to be blessed with miracles, and notice them when they do happen. I am not a religious fanatic, I'm not even a Christian in the traditional sense. So take what I've said, and figure it out for yourself. Everything I have said here is the truth, although very condensed.
Blessed Be

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen....You have to first hope for the miracle...which leads to faith...God said his ways are not our ways....Ok?
With that said a miracle can be defined as something that in the normal state of life is not able to happen. God said with man it's impossible but with him all things are possible...there are many scripture referrences to healings that Jesus did in his time...how it works is according to your faith.
Alot of people who don't know Jesus don't know that God is able to do these things...which is why the spreading of the gospel is important. If you are sick and the dr.'s say there is no cure you're going to die in "x" amount of years, you first have to know the will of God for your life and any problem you may encounter. If he says to his people all my answers to you are yah and amen, then there is nothing he won't do for you. But you have to know this and believe it!!! There is strict rules God uses and he said straight and narrow is the way righteousness and few will find it...If you believe what he say you will do what he say and you will be blessed beyond your wildest dreams...He said in Hosea "My people suffer for lack of knowledge...." If you are skeptical hey that's cool too. God requires your open heart which leads to honesty....and he will give you what you need to make it to the other side...all you got to do is deny yourself and ask him....Now when I hear economics I think of money, supply and demand....the miracles are readily available but only to those who demand them and believe in Him....And yes if we all were completely positioned and focused on God then miracles would be the norm....they should be...but the reality is that they are not...
Alot of people including myself have to work on this....
