Ok. We all agree that "big business" is here for the money and nothing more. So, when they can't make big profits by exploiting undocumented workers (who presumably will work for little to nothing), how many of these companies will simply move production over seas? And, when they do, how will that affect our economy?

Nearly 2 years ago, my husband became obsessed with only buying items made in the USA. YOU would be amazed at how few things we could find. Clothing is nearly entirely made elsewhere. We even tried Farm & Fleet (farmer store) and they only have 1 brand (Carthall?) that is made here. WE looked at Wal-mart (thinking they spouted american slogans) and found nothing. Nothing made in the US. what do you think?

You know your SUV at least 30% to 60% componets are made in Mexico. You know potato chips are made in Canada. Nothing wrong with trade of that sort because it makes the products cheaper for the comsumer. Its the igorance of the population regrading trade, and markets that is scary. Immigration has nothing to do with outsoucring because even Mexico get jobs outsourced to China because of labor costs. Inputs, and ouputs of goods from five to ten different countries. For example, a computer the labeling is made in Canada, the cardboard from Mexico, the plastics for the LCD screen made in China, or Korea. Finished goods have products from ten different countries possibly. The right-wing populists sounding more like Hugo Chavez that is scary, as is leftist populists regrading trade. Immigration needs to fixed, but conispracy lunatics need to be shut up because American economic growth wil decline if we dont open up globally. Need to realize EU idea is not so insane once you start to look at it from intellectual standpoint, and not emotional knee jerk viewpoint that people do.

I believe in buying American products, that includes Mexico. If they outsource they should do it in Mexico. Type in "made in America" you'll find there are a lot of things still here.
Mexico has a 35% import fee on many things from the USA and I beleive we should respond in kind.

You may want to look a little harder, there are many, many, many things still made in the good ole US of A. I try not to buy foreign made, unless I absolutely have to. I will travel out of my way in order to buy American made. Good question though, kinda makes a person think again.
