anyone tell what what i can do to relieve the pain until i can see my doctor....its swollen really bad.

you might consider going to the emergency room. A hernia can get "estrangulated' which basically means the bowel is pushing through the hernia, thats what causes the swelling. It can cut off the blood supply to the bowel and that can be very serious.

If you have a doctors appointment then I won't go into "see your doctor" but, you should right away.
You can push the hernia in slightly and, put a rolled up sock, a heavy one like a gym sock, against it and put a belt around your waist. This should hold the hernia in and, keep it from coming out and being painful. Do not take this as a cure, a strangulated hernia can cause gas gangrene and, you can loose a number of feet in intestine.
