I think the world might be able to achieve world peace. ALOT of problems would be solved. Freedom would have a new meaning as well.

I dont know about others, but according to my mother, when I was child (3 yrs old), my younger sister whom I played with all the times died (she was > 1 year old) , since then I was always sad, I felt of losing something.
My parents were not religous.
My mother told me that my sister was looked after by a nice nanny who lived in the sun during the day and lived in the moon at night, and one day I will meet her too.
So I was always asking that nanny to look after her until I come.
So, if you have not had a sadness which really affect you, you dont look for god.
But I did lose my close friend, whom I played with together; I had the experience when I was very young.
So, even if there are no religion, my parents had to answer my question where my sister went.
Sidharta found sadness when he saw the poor, the sick and the death body which he was never introduced before.
Talking abt religion to you is an on going thing which may not "touch" your nerve anyway. You have not had the pain.
What you had experienced "MAYBE" only disappointments, that's more a self inflicted or just being in a wrong place at the wrong time as well, that kind position allow to find a black sheep to be blamed.
But a dead locked position was something different, it's not just physical challlenge it's mental as well.
I think, I would not just " be fine", at the time I lost my sister.
Imagine your gf killed tomorrow, no matter how loud you scream she would not come back to live w you anymore.
Imagine you have an accident and lost part of your leg, no matter how much money you spend, the same leg is gone forever.
So, I did have a sad experience, not my choice, that made me wanted to hold on something.
As i went to school (catholic school) I was told that Jesus who taken care, I didn't want to accept. I said NO! It's my nanny!
I was also told that the food I had was from Jesus, so every time I ate I sang, " Thank you Jesus, thank you my god";
That was when I was started being introduced to religion
BUT, my experience losing my sister drove me to need a caretaker of her.
So, I would be different if my sister still alive. Whether there is or there is no religion in this world. The death of my sister that lead me to religion or to believe in a "caretaker".
It's a great BS you say???? Maybe??? But if my mother said at that time, "well she's dead, she's in the grave, she rott," ...I cant imagine what would happen to me.
Believing in GOD, Who's only HAS NAME : THE MOST , an UNLIMITED MOST, is fine by me.
That's what I need. I dont need anything which is limited, .. as my Lord, limited to me means that I can visualize . I need "something" unreachable, The Top of The Top of The Top of The Top ..............never end
My fate say different!

tbh if i didnt have a religious i would want one , so i have a meaning and goal in my life n hereafter . im sure this isnt all there is there has to be somethings after life . I wouldnt be the same person as i am know becouse i wouldnt know whats right or wrong , would think its its ok to lie , steal, murder, destroy the enviroment ect ect without religion i wouldnt have what i call a "footpath" which could lead me to being a nice human being . million million years ago wen there was no religoin people used to walk around naked they had no sense , parents used to burry their their new borns alive if they found out it was a girl so people didnt really know how to live a life of a good human being. religion gives a person a personality to live by that will benifit you and others around you , a gives you a key to put a smile on peoples faces however some people do interpret religion differently and think religion causes conflict and violence . but everyone has different believes so :)

Probably to some extent. I may have a subtly different moral code, but in most cases I would be close to the same. Although, where the questions gets complex is when you think of it through the generations. If my parents didn't have any religion, and their parents didn't and so on, it's hard to guess how that would have shifted my upbringing (which while not overly religious, religion did have some play). It would impact the colonization pattern of America, wars, it really would change the entire landscape.
So, I'm not entirely certain, but only because the ramifications of your question are huge. I'm probably over-thinking it.
It does make me wonder what we would say is the cause for most wars in that world--it would probably be something dumb like cantaloupe.

Hello their, As far as i know people have always believed in something. Before Christ people believed in different Gods like the Sun and then their were living Gods.
I have read that their is part of our brain that is processed to believe in some type of God and after life. It is thought that this is what has keep man going for so long without destroying ourselves. What i think would happen if Christ or God was not live we know it as it is today then we would believe in another God like figure. But all we can be sure of is the brain research that explains that we would look up to something because people who do not believe in God have other Gods Like other religions.
Good Question

Religion is just like a club for people who have a common interest. Church - can be like a clubhouse if you don't put your heart into it. The truth is the bible is one of the oldest historical documents there is. It explains things that were passed down word of mouth for centuries before it was recorded.
Do your homework. Religion means nothing without faith. There is a God and there is a Satan. People are saved through faith in Jesus Christ and then God shows them the "burning bush".
Check the historical facts against the bible and see if they don't match up to about the same time line as the bible describes.- With the same Roman emperors.
Saying all of that to say : Our lives would be different without the sacrificial death of Jesus. - Religion means nothing.
P.S. Pluto is a planet. It just lost weight.

oh god no I'd have a hole in my heart and...
...WAIT a minute.
Nono, hah, had you going. I'm sure I'd be a much less angry person.... Nope. Damn. I don't think it would make much of a difference, it seems that humans have some kind of built in urge to both be stupid and to have something at least something that has a similar impact on their lives as religion - so I'm sure some kind of stupidity would still have me all pissed off.
Seems religion encourages over-breeding... But it probably wouldn't have much impact on the population since so many fewer would have DIED in the name of some false god.
There is only one true god! He lives in my pants. They call him happy. (and no, I'm not talking about my junk! you sicko)
Pants Gnome!
I think only Marcus Aurelius could really have a well composed response to this question though. Genius!
And don't blanket state that the zealots wouldn't want to admit it. They might - if they were capable of comprehending reality instead of being blinded by the close-minded world that's drilled into their brains from birth.
Frontal Lobotomies all around! Yay!

I remember longing for something greater than myself before I was introduced to the concept of religion or Christianity. I am sure I would be a different person, but I don't know if I would be happier or if I would be a person who was still searching for something. Personally, I think I would still be searching for that greater something, but if there were never any religion, I would be hard pressed to find anything. I can't imagine... nor do I want to. I looked long and hard for the answers I sought, and Christianity is what I came up with. I am happy with my decision and can't imagine my life without it.

Probably not...I've been an atheist since the age of 18, and religion never played a big part in my life as a child.
It may seem incredible to all of the religious people out there, but it is possible to lead a moral, upstanding life without the influence of religion.

I was never raised with any "spritiual" influence whatsoever. No family to do this for me; all dead, just a bunch of Foster families. I drifted on my own all my early life. Got myself into very serious trouble and almost died by my own foolish hand. I know that I know that I know, if Christ did not reach out and snatch me from Satan's grip around my throat, I would be burning in hell where I deserved to be because of my actions, my pride, my arrogance, my selfishness. My life is a whole lot better now than it was then. Period.

In my openion, I believe that the world will be difference from now if there are not the religions.
How can we know about the effect of it?
- The religion can tell us the good or bad.
- Have you ever tried to do sth. wrong but you decided to stop it? Why did you decide not to do it?
- Have you ever tried to do good thing but someone objected you, you stood doing that. Why did you decide to do it?
- Bedause the good and bad are involved in mind and help you make the consideration in the right way. What do you think?
