The FBI investigates relatively few major thefts and violent crimes. Local and State Police Agencies handle almost all of these (with the exception of Bank Robberies).

If you want to investigate white collar crimes, some kidnappings, and bank robberies with a shot of moving into organized crime, terrorism, or counter intelligence investigations, then the FBI is for you.
