An earring? No, I wouldn't take her to the ER. Give it a few days, make sure it's being kept clean and bandaged. If it becomes infected, which it probably won't, then take her to a doctor. Earring studs are usually pretty small and shouldn't cause significant damage.

No, you don't have to. It's the same as accidentally puncturing a finger while sewing. Since it's only a earring, and not a rusty nail, you're safe. Just put a bandaid on it, and continue the use of Neosporin. Make sure it's clean just like any other cut. With an earring, even one stitch is too much to do on a tiny puncture. My kids stepped on a lot of things, and so did my neighbor's kids. I've had too much experience with stepping on things, lol. Good luck!

"ER" is short for "emergency room," as I'm sure you know. They exist for emergencies. What you're describing here is not an emergency. Keep an eye on the wound, re-applying antibiotic ointment and bandaging as necessary. Keep the signs of infection in mind: redness, swelling, pain, and heat. If an infection develops, take her to your usual doctor to see if she needs a stronger antibiotic.
Like another poster said, going to the emergency room with something this minor will result in you waiting for a long time. Possibly four hours, six hours, or more. The ER is not like the DMV. It's not first come, first serve. Patients are seen in the order of how urgent the situation is, which means that you'll have to wait for a long, long time.

Probably not, since ears are not huge harbingers of infection. I doubt it's really necessary, as you've already taken the proper precautions.
A couple of years ago I stepped on a two-inch-long hawthorne that penetrated the sole of my shoe and went far into my foot. I did as you described, plus soaked it in hot water and Epsom salts twice a day for several days. This was on the advise of my brother, who's a doctor. No infection resulted, and you may wish for your daughter to do this as an extra precaution.

No I wouldn't go to the ER for that. Keep it clean and continue with Neosporin. If it starts getting red or swelling then call your Doctor.

I personnaly wouldn't take her to the Dr, but definently keep it cleaned and keep the antibiotic ointment on it and a bandaid, keep an eye on it and watch for signs of redness and inflamation that could lead to infection. Make especially sure that at bath time you wash it with soap.

absolutely not.
just make sure her **tetanus** vaccination is included in your up-to-date vaccinations. Normally it's not
if you still feel the need to see a Dr.-wait til tomorrow. this is minor and you don't need the cost and delay of waiting in an ER
with such a minor complaint you will be put at the end of the line (triage) for care--if anyone with a more urgent complaint comes in--they get in front of you.
You'll be there all night!!!
