I mean as not the Mother of "God the Father" (she can't be), but the mother of "God the Son" (Jesus). And isn't the Son still God? He is, according to the bible.

So do you call her or agree that she is Mother of "God The Son"? NOT THE FATHER.

I'm not a Protestant or a Catholic.

Yes, Mary is Jesus' mother. And since Jesus is God the Son, Mary is the mother of God the Son.

Yes, Mary is the Mother of God (the Son)

And CJ - let us remember that Mary did God's will! Luke 1:38 "Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." . . .

Mary was conceived without the stain of original sin. Full of grace (in the original biblical text) means free from sin. She is very much living, can hear the prayers of her children, and very much prays for us!

Also, she remained a virgin her entire life. The term brothers and sisters is the same as cousin in the original biblical language. So when the bible refers to Jesus' brothers and sisters it refers to His cousins. Also, if Jesus had brothers and sisters then He wouldn't have had the Apostle John take care of his mother after His death--His siblings would have taken care of her.

God bless you all!

Her soul magnifies the Lord (Luke 1:46-55)!

This simple statement of fact should be a "case closed" situation that could be argued with a classic syllogism:

Jesus is God
Mary is the mother of Jesus
Mary is the mother of God

All these nice but misguided folks who attempt to somehow "qualify" the status of the Blessed Virgin, who is the authentic Mother of God, only end up "qualifying" Jesus, and making him out ot be less than who he most certainly is.

This is what happens when people turn their backs on the truth and start doing their own things, their own ways, according to their own false faith traditions.

Their Jesus must be rolling over in his grave right now.

Follow closely now ...
I am a biologist.
Anna is my mother.
Is there some way Anna could NOT be the mother of a biologist?
Jesus is God.
Mary is Jesus' mother.
Is there some way Mary could NOT be the mother of God?

It is sheer nonsense to claim that Mary is the mother of part of Jesus, but not of other parts. No woman can be the mother of part of a person. Jesus Christ is ONE Person. Mary is the mother of that Person, all that He is. That's how it works.

Good question. Mary was the mother of Jesus the Son, when He was a human on this earth. He had to be born this way, so as a human, He didn't sin, and became the perfect sacrifice.

Protestants DO have faith Mary is the mum of Jesus. no count if Jesus additionally suggested in Matthew 12:50 "For whoever does the choose of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mom." it incredibly is like an comparable argument Catholics supply in the path of the theory that Jesus did now not have brothers and sisters.

When you refer to Mary as the Mother of God, it implies that God the Son came into existence when Mary gave birth to Jesus, which is not the case. Jesus, the second person of the Trinity, has, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, always been in existence.

She was the mother of Jesus Christ, yes. God the Father never became human, only the One who became Christ did that. The Son is definitely still God, He always was and always will be.
