Sure, or you could be clenching or grinding your teeth. That can make a tooth really tender. Then when you don't clench or grind, the tooth will get better and you'll forget all about it until you do it again.

It is possible but not too likely. You might have bitten down and cracked a tooth but that is not as probable as just plain old decay cavity. If there is an infection in your tooth it can turn into an abscess (an infected pocket). That abscess might drain or more likely it will expand until you have a major unbearable pain.

Going to get it checked by a dentist is the best approach. If it is just minor he will explain that and you can stop worrying. If it needs some work it is best to get started cleaning out the problem before it spreads.

Yea if they rot and fall off. Go to the dentist because it wont go away, and if you think it has, its only temporary, it will come back. You either need a filling or a root canal. On the other hand, it could be the pressure from clenching your teeth together. For any of those reasons a dentist will be able to help.

Tooth problems just get bigger, they NEVER get better.
Give it one more day, and if it still hurts, call your dentist.
