If only...
Problem is, this is not a money making situation. It's not a good political move for presidential candidates to have a policy and take an actual STAND on this issue.
The only thing that can be said is that Clinton and Obama believe in giving USA to the Mexicans who are already here.
And they supported the Shamnesty Bill co-written by none other than Arizona's John McCain. Supporting the Illegals means supporting all that's ANTI-American.
There's nobody willing to actually solve this problem who's got the power to stop it. It's cheaper to welcome all who come on one hand, while attempting to convince us that there actually IS such a thing as Homeland Security, on the other.

Immigration is debated at every Republican presidential debate, talk radio show, etc. There will be no reform until the Dems stop blocking the common sense rules American wants.
Did you know the Dems recently stole a vote on the House floor to protect the bill giving aid to illegals?

No. The little activity we see is just to appease the angry masses. Real reform will require electing the right candidates for the Senate, House and Presidency.
There is no democrat presidential candidate that will do so, there are only some democrats and only some republican congressional candidates that can be relied on. The only chance of getting the bill signed is with the right republican candidate but I am afraid most people are not focused on that.

I doubt it very much. Everyone in the government seems to be treading water on this subject. Yet there is sharp division in the reactions of the general populace on this problem.
And to Triple Crosser:
Most of us are NOT immigrant bashers. I read the articles in the link you sent, and it seems that you are also on the fence. If you believe that we have to suck it up and just let people in illegally, then you are very wrong. We are not talking about just immigrants. Our country is based upon a tradition of immigration. But my grandparents and my husband entered this country LEGALLY, through the proper channels. There would be no
problem if these people had done the same. If someone shot you, would that be all right? I mean, he had a permit for the gun, so it wasn't illegal. Right? People around the world have waited up to 15 years, to enter this country, and the lines are very long around each American embassy for those hoping to immigrate to the USA. Yet these illegal aliens have the right to stay when they broke the law as soon as they crossed the border? Puh-leeze!

Yes,
But we can not have immigration reform until we can control our borders. Once we Re-establish control of our borders and remove those who are in the country illegally then we can adjust and make reforms in the immigration system.
As you are aware politicians will never again allow amnesty for anyone in the United States illegally.

It is not a dead issue at all. Unfortunately, I think there will be a push for it again in the next few months. People, we all need to be vigilant and away of what is happening in this world.
