Lets say your physically fit son/daughter fell in love with a person who was on the plus side of weight? In other words if your son came to the door with a full figured young woman or your daughter with a bigger young man?

It is what is in their heart. A book with a plain cover is not very interesting but when you open it and begin to read it opens a brand new view of the plain book

It wouldn't bother me at all as long as my son or daughter is happy with this person.Too many people in the world today focus on looks on the outside if you would just look on the inside of people this would be a much more beautiful world.Full figured women are in this day and time.

I am still suprised every day that these types of predjudices and others still exist in this day and age. I think a parent would worry more if the person their child was in love with had a drug/alcohol problem, or be abusive, or had no goals in life, or didn't have respect for their child, I can think of a billion more reasons but weight would never have been one of them, neither would race, religion, etc. You would think it's 2007 and people would be over all of that and see the issues that are really important.

What! Why is this an issue. Would you rather your son or daughter base their feelings how the other person looks. Fall in love with a body part. " I'm in love with his big, strong, fit arms. They are the love of my life, I hope they always stay that way." duhhhh.

Knowing that my son/daughter knows how to look beyond one's physical appearance and love someone for who he/she is on the inside would make me feel proud of them. I would feel like a parent who's done a good job.

If they are fit enough to move around, be active, and took care of their health no worries. Weight can always change someone core fiber rarely does.

In my case it would be my daughter, I would not care as long as the boy was treating her right, and they were really in love.

who cares, all that matters is their happiness and who are you to judge someone just because they might be on the bigger side. That says nothing about their personality.

I do not know that I would react at all, other than to assume that I raised an unbiased young adult, and hope they are a positive influence on the other eating and exercise routines.
