I have a big bump that all of a sudden just appeared on my foot. Could it be a bunion? I thought it took awhile for bunions to grow, such as weeks or months. Will it go down on its own? Once you get one, do you have it until you have surgery? Any information would be great. Thanks Doug

bunions are a deformation of the joint in the great toe. You don't say where on your foot this "big bump" is. So it's not possible to determine if what you have is a bunion or not. However, the only certain treatment for bunions is surgery.
