I've heard horrible things about Vista when it came out. Now, I've bought a new computer that came with Vista & am finding out that going back to XP on a Vista designed machine is a pain. For example, the integrated sound doesn't have XP drivers. Do you think I should just stick with Vista at this point?

For me there never has been a problem with Vista. I have been using Home Premium from the day it was released.

It is the finest o/s Microsoft have ever developed, and I was and still am to some extent an avid follower of XP.

It is unfortunate that the Vista sucks brigade have managed to make such an impression, as many of them have not even tried it and have just jumped on the bandwagon.

Everyone seems to have a short memory as DO YOU REMEMBER the XP sucks brigade? They couldnt imagine how life could be after Windows 98se.

Lets just face it, so many just dont like change.

So the next time you here the paraphrase vista sucks, take it with a pinch of salt, the very least ask them to justify their comment and many of them will not be able to, as they simply dont know as they have never used it and going on hearsay.

Sorry Rant Over !

Stick with Vista and wait for improvements with Service Pack 1.

I use both XP and Vista. I prefer XP since I am used to it and have fewer new issues to deal with; however, Vista also works fine on our other machine and is just as stable.

Vista needs some additional tweaking by the user on initial use to get it to be easy to use. Disabling UAC is one method some people have used. Another is running as Administrator, but this bypasses some of Vista's new security features.

Keep with Vista, it will become the standard we all use in a few years and the nay sayers will poo-poo the next version saying Vista is so great.

History repeats itself.

I could desire to bypass with Billy Gigurtsis in this one. I even have Vista in a 2 a million/2 year previous Toshiba satellite tv for pc. It runs like a champ. I even have residing house windows 7 in a pc I outfitted over a year in the past. i does not waste the money to enhance the laptop. in my opinion residing house windows 7 is merely Vista with a third provider p.c... The posting that announces some Vista drivers artwork in residing house windows 7 is genuine. there's a robust hazard that residing house windows 7 will installation the drivers it desires by ability of itself too. wish this helps. stable success.

Yes vista does suck. Mac Os x and Ubuntu can do what vista can do (and more) without sucking up all your system resources. Vista is pretty but so far a huge waste of seven years for programmers.

BTW you can not install leopard on a pc that's not a mac.

That was a bad mistake! I have also heard of problems when downgrading to XP on a Vista computer. My advice is to wait until Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard comes out, then install that on you pc. more on leopard here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/
Hope that helped :-D
