my dermatalogist told me not to pop my pimples. so i didn't do it to one of my pimples but still did to the others. the pimple i didn't pop eventually grew and was an embarrasing huge brown spot that jutted out from the top left side of my face for about 2-3 months, then it became strangely poppable so i popped it like usual. so should i or should i not pop pimples? and if i shouldn't, then what was the reason that happened to me?

Scaring is the lest of the worries about pimples on the face. I would worry more about staph infections. Staph lives normally in the nasal regions and well be taken care of by the body under normal conditions. If, this is if, the body gets ill and the "T" cells go to work somewhere and the immune system somewhat weaken then you open to infection from the staph germs due to all this. Popping pimples on the face is sure to get staph germs into it.
This can lead to serious infections in the heart and other places in the body.

What the doctor should have told you was put a warm to hot towel on it, keep this up, hotter and hotter, the pimple will eventually pop and drain on it's own. You can also take a small bottle, like a medicine bottle and get it hot, like steamy and keep this up until it pops.

You could have taken care of theat pimple in a few moments.

Popping pimples can lead to infection and scaring, other wise there's not much reason not to... oh yeah, and if you pop one another one is more likely to grow exactly where the old one was.

It's entirely up to you, if its in a location that you'd rather have a sore over a zit, then pop it and make the sacrifice. If its somewhere easier to conceal, you may just want to let it go its course.

Either way you should ask your dermatologist about that situation you described, because you may have a skin condition or have certain needs that only an expert dealing with you could give a proper assessment of.

On a side note, even though everyone says no, I find using a bit of apple cidar vinnegar will dry out a pimple, but not cause it to pop...it for me, and several other people accelerates the rate of healing.
