I never used to shake until I started taking Lexapro. My legs would shake uncontrollably, & also, when I'm lying down, my whole body shakes & I always feel the need to rock back & forth or sway side to side. I'm off of Lexapro now, & I'm still shaking. I can't control it. I already was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome. Do you think this leg-shaking has to do with my TS? I remember certain medications triggered off certain tics for me. I remember when my eyes used to blink uncontrollably & I used to stutter. When I got off that medication, I wasn't doing that anymore, but I had other tics.

***Is there any way I can stop this uncontrollabe shaking? People think I'm doing it on purpose for attention & they get annoyed.

My neurologist told me that I could develop a tic from taking this certain medication. I never did, but, according to her, it could happen.

Lexapro did not work well for me. It gave me migraines. I would think, even for a doctor, it would be hard to tell if it was the TS or the medication or a combination of both. Either way, it does not sound as if it is the medication for you. I am glad you are off of it now. How long have you been off of it? Could it be some sort of withdrawal? Did your doctor replace it with another antidepressant? I know that Lexapro is not supposed to be just stopped immediately; you either need to get on another medication or go off of this one gradually. I hope your doctor did that for you.

I don't know any way for you to stop the shaking. Is there any way that you can call your doctor and let him know what is going on and have him give you some advice. There are medications to stop shaking but most of them are for Restless Leg Syndrome or Parkinson's Disease and I don't know if they cause any harm if used on people w/o these diseases.

I hope your doctor can help you; I know how miserable you must be. My mother had Parkinson's Disease and the shaking drove her nuts plus she was so embarrassed about it because people noticed it of course.

The best advice i can give to you is to research about Tourette's Syndrome on the web. This could definately answer some of your questions and you would know more of what to expect. Just research different articles on this. Also some medications can give you certain side affects. This depends on how long you have been on them and dosage and also when you have stopped taking it.. Some meds take time to be completely out of your system. Best of Luck.. Dont let anyone bother you...Just keep smilin....
