I wouldn't build a track... I'd have NASCAR's Cup series race at about 4 or 5 of the already existing little bitty local tracks each year.

Fans MUST live within a 15 -20 mile radius to see it live and in person. The rest of us get to watch HDTV.

Let's get back to the ROOTS!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think there is a need for a new track design. There are great tracks that NASCAR used to use and don't today and I say use what you got before you build any more.

If I had to build one I would put it in the south east right where NASCAR belongs. I live up north but the S E is the founding area and I say lets keep it there. That is where the great tracks are. Nothing has been built in the 20 years that amounts to anything. Why would anyone think they could build a descent track today.

There travel out west is a waste of time and money.

I would put it right here in Wisconsin. We have one of the best tracks in the country, that is why we get some of the biggest NASCAR stars twice a year. It would be like fish bowl. A 3/4 mile track with high banking. It makes for real exciting race and if you dont believe me ask wimmers, kenseth, busch, kluever, trickle, musgraves, gordon, stewart, or any other one that has been out here.

I would put it right here in central Mississippi (halfway between Atlanta and Dallas). There are alot of fans around here. It would be wider than any track ever built so they could get five wide and it would have high banking in the turns to minimize how much they have to slow. A lap would be three miles making a 500 mile race 166 laps. And, as long as I'm dreaming, the infield would be clothing-optional (I hear that's almost the case at Talladega anyway).

Well intresting.I think it would be a 3/4 mile oval.Start finish line thru number 2 turn family friendly,no alcohol.
Turn 3 and 4 would be an area for alcohol and turn 4 to start/finish line would be reserved seating. From turn 2 to the 3 rd turn is a hill for would be RV reserved to watch from the hill overlooking the track.
Sky walks over the garage areas to see what is going on.
The location somewhere from Mobile,Al to Hattiesburg,Ms to Shreveport.La.

I'd make a track that stands out. I'd make a figure 8 track. Not one where the intersections are together but one intersection would be above the other. That way nobody crashes in the middle. The length would be 2 miles long. I'd make it in Wisconsin.

NASCAR needs another short track. I'd say it would be called Nebraska Speedway. a .75 mile oval. Stands all the way around and it would be in Omaha Nebraska.

Make an intermediate superspeedway (1.5 mile) track that was a figure 8 with crossover and make them do left AND right turns. You could put the pylons for the crossover far enough back not to get caught up in a wreck and build some monster mile-like suites in the crossover.

It already exists...or did. Pikes Peak is/was the best. Just ask the drivers. First class facility and the track is/was awesome.
