My deepest Sympathy's on your loss of loved ones.
There is no differences that I'm aware of in the question of casket or coffin.
The funeral it's self could take up to 1 1/2 hour tops, then if going to the grave site maybe another hour and if a tea
afterwards another 2 hours. So maybe all together I'm going to say 4 to 5 hours.
Be strong and our hearts go out to you in your time of need.
Take care dear.

The actual funeral lasts between 1 and 2 hours. This one sounds very sad, like a car accident. So it will probably last the whole 2 hours, with speeches and stuff. The wake is usually held right after, at someone's house. Everyone brings food. There's a lot of food. Depending on the family, there may be wine and/or beer or even hard liquor. That wake usually lasts another 1-2 hours. There's no difference between a coffin and a casket. The wake might be at your friend's house, or a close relative, or a best friend. ( I don't know how close this friend is to you.) This sounds so sad. I'm sorry for your loss. :)

I would count on her being gone for about three hours. Normally you can always count on two hours for the funereal but since she is family, she will probably want to wait and talk to everyone and wait until everyone else is gone.
I am happy she decided to go ahead and go; I think she will be able to deal with things much better that way later on.
A coffin is a box or chest to bury a corpse and a casket is an unusually fancy coffin. I use them interchangeably.
The definition of a wake is to watch over the body, but people use it differently now. Usually most of us say "wake" when there isn't going to be a formal service. People can come and go and visit each other and say nice things about the deceased but there isn't a service where everyone sits down, etc. The body doesn't really need to be at the wake either. many people call it a wake when after the funeral everyone goes back to someones house and eats and drinks and talks.

Usually about an hour depending on the persons family- the difference between a wake and and a funeral is the wake is only to view the body the funeral is the whole service. A caske and coffin are the exact same thing just different names.

Sorry for your friend.
Every funeral I've ever been too has lasted too long. I've been to 2 hour funerals. I have never been to a wake, but it's more of a celebration of the persons life as I understand. You should look it up.
I don't think there is a difference between a casket and a coffin. I think they are probably all equally overpriced. Hope they just roll my *** onto to a fire. Over and done with me. No ceremony nothing.

Most of the funerals I have been to last an hour. The wake or reviewal is where you just go & view the body. They can be held on the same day or the day before. Casket & coffin same thing different word. Condolences to your friend.

Coffin is British usage, casket is US usage from what i've heard. A wake is when family or friends are able to view the body in a church type setting for a designated amount of time. A funeral is a ceremony when they bury the body.

A funeral can last from 30 minutes to a whole weekend...depending on the family & the culture/faith.
A wake is paying respect to the family and the deceased...usually at the funeral home.
The funeral is the service.
It can all be held on the same day....again it depends on the family and the culture/faith.
Casket....coffin....same thing just different name.

Depends on the person's and the family's wishes, and on the person officiating. My husband does a fairly short service--20 minutes to 1/2 hour or so, then allows others to share stories--if the family wishes. Length of the service also depends on music, etc.
Graveside service is also short. 10-15 minutes, maybe. Then, people may stay as long as they like. He likes for people to be able to spend as much time visiting/grieving together rather than listening to him go on and on.
The two services are almost always on the same day in our denomination, but I'm sure that varies.
