its weird...i listen to metal and hardcore all the time and i don't get a headache at all....wtf?

The bass in the rap music effects your ear drum. It is responsible for balance. I think there is some connection here- I also get a headache when listening to rap music.

Maybe you just don't like rap and you find it irritating. Maybe you like listening to other music that is loud, and liking it makes you able to put up with the loudness.
I enjoy listening to a wide range of music, probably more than most people. There are some artists or songs I just can't stand; but I don't necessarily get a headache.
I used to listen to a lot of reggae and turn it up really loud; my wife would say "How can you listen to that without talking a Tylenol?"
I have heard other people say things like "I can't stand that rap/country/metal/classic rock (or whatever), it gives me a headache" so you are not alone.

Metal has power and meaning in it.
Rap is grown up nursery rhymes.
Rap is a disease and metal is the cure.Rap is a guy with a keyboard and a huge ego trip.Metal is a few guys or girls that put allot of time into what there doing to create something for the listeners.Metal is just like classical music with a bit of extra muscle in it,wood,air,string,add some electricity and it comes to life.Rappers sing about themselves,metal is for the people.Love metal,always have ,always will.I cant wait till im an old man,driving down the street with my hearing aids set to loud listening to metallica or slayer.There will be some really cool old dudes in the future,i"ll be one of them,I reckon you will be too.

because rap is lower class and not what you could call music what so ever... 4eo i honestly dont understand how its made it this long.
And to those who do like it do me the favor take time out to listen to some hardcore and then you'll see the difference

Maybe because rap just isn't your kind of music, and when you listen to it you may get annoyed, I sometimes do

because metal and hardcore is real music and takes talent to sound good unlike rap which has disgusting lyrics and no real tune to it.... same thing happens to me but i don't mind because obviously I hate rap lol
