I rarely give good advice so take.To pastors or reverends,priests religion is absolute no questions.Questions make people think,in religion thinking is bad.God is absolute and to prove it they will tell you to look around he created all this.And if your response is .....uh....huh....how does that prove anything.Smile tell them they did a good job to tie their shoes and walk away.Find someone who can point out many religions for you to examine and get into a real talk about it with someone who has some sense.Cause once you start messin with the alter boys it's all down hill...

Why? IDK ask him. Meanwhile, when he does that stop talking about Jesus and sing about him. That may be the appropriate punishment.
