I have heard meat being described as gamey. What is it describing and what does gamey meat taste like as opposed to other meat.

It refers to a taste found in the meat of many types of wild game animal. To me, "gaminess" tastes a lot like beef liver. I don't care for it much myself but, for others like my husband, it's the flavor they're after. The taste is much more pronounced in some animals than in others. Wild duck is frequently described as "gamey"...wild quail usually isn't. It can be influenced by the age of the animal and the diet they prefer. Using my earlier example, wild ducks are frequently fish eaters and wild quail eat insects and grains. Fish is a much stronger flavor than grain, hence more flavor in their meat. Hope that helps.

tastes 'wild'
Eg, wild goose meat, bison meat

It has a stronger taste that you might or might not like due to the kinds of food wild animals eat

It refers to "game" as in animals which were hunted. They are usually tough & taste different which is why you have to marinate the H*ll out of them to make them palatable.
