Sometimes I think it would be better if God just made slaves out of everyone and then they couldn't do anything wrong, but, I know that would be like spending your whole life playing with Dolls when you could be hanging out with people.
Life is kind of like school, or a job. Life is really about learning from what happens and constantly becoming a better person. That is why Christians are saved by Grace, not Law.
The law is important, but, if you never make a mistake you never learn anything and you never become capable of handling difficult situations, like being able to deal with someone you love making really bad choices.
Christians make mistakes (sin), admit they made a mistake and then learn from the mistake (repent), and become better people (forgiven people).
The truth is that you can make as many mistakes as you need to make so that you can become the best person you can be. You are not perfect. No one is. Everyone makes mistakes.
The difference in being a Christian is that Christians know that making mistakes is ok when we learn from the mistakes and become better people.
When the time comes to hang out with God, God hangs out with the people who have a good attitude when bad things happen and who learn from their mistakes.
It sounds like you are well on your way to becoming that kind of person.
You can always e-mail me. You have my prayers.

I can't even understand what you've been through, but I'm sure it was very difficult. But God created you and you are very special. He still loves you as much as ever. As Cita Bean said, God never left you. He is always with you, even when you don't feel that he is. (Read the "Footprints in the Sand" poem; it's always uplifting to me.)
It is perfectly understandable to be hesitant to go back to church. So don't if you're not ready. Lots of us Christians are here for you, so you're doing the right thing just by asking for help. You would probably also feel better if you talked to a therapist about some problems (if you haven't yet), esp. for the cutting and (possible?) depression.
The best thing for you to do is pray to God, and trust that He will help you. Also you can feel closer to God by reading the Bible; you can do that right at home. I'll be praying for you also. God bless.

You should try just talking to him just like what you wrote on here. He is closer than your next breath listening to you. Tell him exactly how you feel because he wants to hear from you. Ask him to come closer to you and be a part of your life and he will. The link below talks a bit about exactly who God is. It helped me learn a lot more about him. The near death experiences on their really opened my eyes to how much he loves and why our lives can seem so hard.
After I started reading the things on this website about God and the spirit world weird things started happening. The very first thing that happened about Dec. last year was I saw a large face hovering in my room while I sat at my computer! I know it was a spirit, it had a green glow outlining the face and eyes. It just stared at me for a few seconds then faded away. I felt no fear at all when I normally would have. I'm sure it was Jesus or an angel letting me know I wasn't alone. God cares so much about us but we have to specifically ask him for things in order for him not to violate our free will.

You should ask yourself the question: What drives me AWAY from God? Peer pressure? Perhaps your embarrassed of it.
You know I felt the same way. I kept hearing all this negative stuff about how God doesn't exist and Jesus was a fraud. *But there is overwhelming evidence that God does exist as well as Christ himself. And note how those who deny this don't even know or understand the Bible. They only search with a dull mind, looking for negatives. And in reality we all question death when we are on the brink. Even an Atheist.

Sit down and read your Bible and let God speak to you. The book of John would be a great place to start. Pray before you read that God would send His Holy Spirit to open your eyes and soften your heart to what He is trying to say to you. If you draw near to God, He has promised that He will draw near to you. I pray that you will find a good church because you need the counsel and support that you can get there. If you go to one and don't feel that it is exactly where you belong, keep on looking until you have a peace and sense of belonging. God bless!!

Wow brother, my heart has gone out to you. I know you are feeling pain. Listen to me, none of us are worthy, every single person who is saved right now is not worthy. Only Jesus is worthy. With that said, you are however loved by God and you are able to be saved . All you sins can and will be forgiven if you repent, turn from your sin and come to Christ. If your heart is truly sincere, if you are truly sorry for your sin, if you truly seek God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, all your strength.. with everything you got. If you do Jesus will change you into a completely different person. I know he did it for me. I was a liar, a cheat, a drunk, a fornicator , a thief and the list goes on and on. Jesus changed me completely. Go find a Pastor at a Calvary Chapel or another non-denominational Bible church and pour out your heart to Jesus with the Pastor's help and guidance.
Jesus is waiting for you. Jesus said this...
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matt 11:28-30
Come to Christ my brother , Come to Christ

Jesus promised us His Spirit, literally. He did that in John 16.
In order to 'feel' His love is to trust Him. It's not just about feeling, but for me the feeling was there too.
I am like you. I needed a reason to live. I tried a lot of things, but I never really gave God a chance, one reason why is because I didn't know if God was there or not. But what I did one night instead of committing suicide was trust Him. I did that "Sinner's Prayer. "
What happened to me during and after that was what I would call a whole lot of feeling all at once. I won't go into the details, but it was unforgettable.
So if you have any other questions about how to go about the whole 'Christian' thing, I would like to tell you about it. You don't have to do what I say, just hear me out and then figure it out yourself.

First, you can't escape God's love. Romans 8:38-39 affirms this. Also, you can never be "too bad" to be forgiven. God will always take you back and love you and accept you. His love His perfect and unconditional. Zephaniah 3:17 says, "The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” God is with you.. always. No matter what happens. He loves you and wants to take you in His arms and hold you. You are accepted by Him always. Also, don't be afraid to go back to church. Your fellow Christians will always accept you and love you and help you in your walk with Christ. I hope God reaches you in a way you never thought possible.

First of all, NOBODY is worthy of Jesus sacrifice for our sins. But if you go to Him in prayer and ask His forgiveness for all you've done up to this present time, he will forgive you and you CAN have a real relationship with Him.
It's important to spend time with other believers, like a church youth group, for instance. Learn more about God and your personal walk with Him.
You'd be surprised at how welcome you'll be in most churches, particularly non-denominational ones like Calvary Chapel. Give it a try, you have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain!
Blessings to you!

First of all you don't need to go to a "church" to feel God's love. If you believe that Jesus, who is God, died for your sins and rose again, then you are saved. Don't focus on what "modern church" and people expect of you. Focus on what the Lord Jesus has done for you, and what He will do for you. Pray and ask Him directly to show you His love.
