The eyes have it. It is much more important to make good eye contact when conversing--unless a person is deaf and needs to watch the mouth.

I try to look some one in the eye. I am horrible at it though, because I am kinda shy. I do not think looking some one in the mouth is quite the best thing to do.

DO NOT look them in the eye, unless you are really sure of them and their likes/dislikes.
Many people do not like eye contact (I don't, it makes me extremely uncomfortable). A lot of people don't.
Also, even if they don't really mind, a lot of people see it as rude and/or aggressive, like you are being confrontational. A lot of cultures just see it as rude or presumptuous.
I don't really look at people that much. I do look them in the face, but I don't maintain a stare at the face or eyes. Since I do that, I don't really notice what they are looking at when I speak. Most people just look at the face as a whole, rarely just focusing on one part.

Look through their eyes as i know it is considered as rude not to look at someone's eyes when you are talking to them. Avoid staring too long cause it will give them an unpleasant experience or they will feel uncomfortable with this action.

Mosly look at their eyes, it's normal to look around the face, but always go back to the eyes, you'll understand them in a different way.

Look them in the eyes - it makes them feel more valued as a person.
Whenever someone looks at anywhere other than my eyes, it seems disrespectful.

You should look at their eyes. Unless you're hard of hearing or deaf. Otherwise, looking at their mouth would be considered flirting. At least I would consider it flirting. :)

I find myself looking at their mouth. Maybe I am sort of lipreading, too.
I don't know if anyone has noticed this.

I look them in the eyes if not it is a sign u are lying to them. i want a honest conversation and if no one looks u in the eye that generally means they are lying to your face.
