This may be infected, but then again, you've just had a piece of metal shoved through you, so it's gonna hurt anyway =].
First thing to do is make sure it is kept clean. I suggest using undiluted TCP on it three times a day to keep germs/bacteria at bay. If this isn't possible then use salt water on the wound.
Keep an eye on the piercing and if it swells up/ fills with pus, I think it's a good idea to seek medical help.
(I've had my cartilage pierced twice now, and the TCP's a godsend - it kinda stings though - just a warning =])

First things first...It might not be infected, so don't worry. It is a puncture wound, and without the scab, it will be painful. You don't really have to worry unless it starts getting hot to the touch AND swollen. Pus is a good indicator, too. Just clean it gently with some antiseptic (this should be available at Claire's, and will definitely be available at a tattoo parlor.) Make sure you don't use antibacterial ointment(like neosporin) because it isn't made for puncture wounds and could trap bacteria inside and make things worse. If you want to get your cartilage pierced, I would suggest going to a tattoo parlor. They use hypodermic needles that take out a small core of flesh rather than just pushing it out of the way, which could result in bad scarring. It doesn't hurt as bad, either. Just make sure the person doing it has their license.

I know nothing about piercings, so I wont be the one to tell you what to do to the piercing, but I will say this, maybe you should go back to Claire's and talk to an employee and explain the situation. It might actually be infected and need medical care. If it starts hurting worse or is red or oosing puss of some kind SEE A DOCTOR!!! It is most likely infected and might actually make u sick.
Hope this helps, and feel better!

you should definitely go back to the Claire's you got it pierced at ASAP and consult with the guy that pierced it for you and so if theres really something wrong with it you should put chargers on that guy... you could get some sort of cartilage infection that causes you cartilage in your ear to scrunch up and look like a cauliflower

If it still hurts its prob infected get some sea salt (the kind you buy at a tattoo shop not at the grocery store) and fallow the directions on the box that will ease the burning if it dosent clear up in a few days id go see a docter just in case

it might not be, just clean it out. the scab may have just gotten ripped off and the open wound is exposed to the air. but put some antibiotic ointment or some rubbing alcohol, or that cleanser stuff they should've given you.
did they do the piercing with a gun? if so, they shouldn't have. cartilidge peircings should be done with needles. less chance of infection.

I am not sure if it's infected or not but you might want to go and see a doctor just in case. It's better to get it looked at then not at all

it might be infected. Most of the time some antiseptic will help clean it out but most likely you should see and doctor to be sure on what to do.

Good. Now you know how stupid those piercings are.
Go to a doctor to fix what "the guy" did to you and maybe you'll think twice next time.
