I'm about to reveal the HYOPCRITES you are if you think that Michael Vick was wrong. How?

Well I'm about to mention topics that is worst or just as bad as dogfighting and I bet MOST of you guys support these topics.

1. Hunting: How could you guys praise a hunters work and at the same time bash dogfighting. I'd rather be forced to fight then be SHOT and KILLED anyday. President Bush hunts (kills animals) & I don't see you guys saying he's cruel. Instead you guys vote him in to be president.

2. Horse Racing: In order for the horse to move fast the owner BEATS the horse with a WHIP, and if the horse break a leg the owner will SHOOT the horse in the HEAD execution style. How is that any different from dogfighting?

3. Eating Meat: Do you guys know what they do in SLAUGHER houses? They KILL the animal AGAINST HIS OWN WILL. Anyways, if you eat meat you are SUPPORTING those actions, and don't even say meat is apart of the food chain because VEGETARIANS do just fine.

FREE VICK!

Additional:

Boxing/UFC Fighting: I bet half of you guys are fans of boxing/UFC. It's a SHAME that we live in a society that supports two HUMANS beating the heck out of each other and then think that dogfighting (ANIMAL fighting) is terrible. That is a twisted way of thinking. I'd rather see two dogs (ANIMALS) get hurt then two HUMANS...and I know some of you guys are going to say that the dogs die (true but not ALL THE TIME). Anyways, there is HUNDREDS of boxers (humans) that DIED because of ring injuries. So boxers/fighters dies too.

Anyways, I'm not against anything I've mentioned. I eat meat, I watch boxing, I don't really care about horse racing, I would hunt but never get a chance too, & I'd watch a dog fight as fast as I can BLINK! Dogs are nothing but ANIMALS. I don't care about Vick dogs just like I don't care about what happened to this big BEEFY burger I'm about to eat. Animals are just animals & they're ALL BENEATH ME!

LEAVE MICHAEL VICK ALONE!

STOP BEING HYPOCRITES AND LEAVE MICHAEL VICK ALONE! DOG ARE JUST ANIMALS AND I DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM!

Alex S,
please EXPLAIN how a animal isn't held against his own will to be KILLED by hunters....LMAO! What a MORON you are!? Anyways, the DOGS aren't held against their own will. If you let a dog go he'll most likely run back to his master!

Dog Fighting: You guys that is ignorant to it needs to keep your opinions to yourselves. None of you guys never been to a dog fight but still write your opinion on what happens there. If you never been to one then SHUT UP and keep your opinions to yourselves.

Thank God somebody around here has some sense

I AGREE

Consider just some of the cases that escaped the former commissioner's wrath. In the 1990s, Christian Peter, then an All-Big Eight defensive tackle, was arrested eight times at Nebraska, where he was twice accused of rape — charges resulting in one out-of-court settlement and another conviction for sexual assault. Though the Patriots relinquished their draft rights to Peter, he would eventually play for three NFL teams.

Then there was Peter's Nebraska teammate, Lawrence Phillips, who pleaded to a brutal domestic abuse case before St. Louis took him with the sixth pick in 1996. Phillips would be arrested three times over the next 19 months. Later, the Dolphins would release him after he was accused of hitting a woman in a bar. Of course, that incident proved an insufficient deterrent for the 49ers who also gave him a shot.

Next, Rams defensive end Leonard Little. In 1998, while driving drunk, he ran a red light and killed Susan Gutweiler, a 47-year-old wife and mother. As per Little's plea deal, he got 90 nights in a work release program and 1,000 hours of community service. In 2004, Little beat another drunk driving case. Last year, he signed a new contract with St. Louis.

Jamal Lewis, a convicted drug trafficker, was suspended for all of two games.

Finally, there's Ray Lewis, who pleaded to obstruction of justice in a double-murder case. Today, he's more of a hero than ever.

So, given this history, how does Goodell grade out Vick's transgressions? Are they more egregious than Little's or Phillips' or Peter's? He didn't rape or kill a human being. He'll do considerably more time than all the aforementioned transgressors. He's already lost all his endorsements, and stands to lose a good portion of his record-breaking signing bonus. Still, people who think nothing of cheering for a Leonard Little sack want to put Vick away for life.

Hunting: This is the best argument, but still flawed. There is one big difference. Dog fighting is ILLEGAL. Hunting is within the confines of the law, and also can be justified by those who eat what they kill.
Also, if all Vick did was fight dogs, he wouldn't be villified as he is. He did more than that. He murdered poor performing dogs in cold blood.
Hunting is the sport, as is the fighting. Killing the dogs afterwards isn't part of the game -- it is just murder. When you go beyond the confines of the game and kill for no good reason, you are jusfiably looked at in a bad light.
This isn't just Vick -- anyone who strangles cats gets viewed the same way.

2. Whipping horses mildly to produce speed is light years different than drowning dogs. I'm sure you can see that. As to the shooting, that is only done as the humane way to deal with a horse with a boken leg who will end up dying a miserable death otherwise. Again, not comparable.

3. Eating meat is part of the human diet. Last time I checked, something has to die for you to eat, be it a plant or animal. It is called the food chain, and is an elemental part of human survival.
You can make your own moral judgments about it, but killing for food is again worlds apart from killing for a poor dog fight.

Lastly, if Vick had admitted to wrongdoing up front he wouldnt' be so villified either, but he chose to flat out llie to his boss, the NFL, and every fan in the country.
That is another character flaw that doesn't sit right with most people.

This is so damn stupid.

First off, believe it or not, there's a difference between hunting and killing an animal. The animal isn't held against its own will. And for the animals that are held against their own will, they're killed so we can eat, not for our entertainment.

When you hold a living animal against it's own will and beat and abuse it relentlessly to the point that the only emotion it knows is anger, and then put it against another animal that you've done the same to so they can fight to the death, and then if they don't die you inhumanely slaughter them, all for entertainment, that is truly sick. If you can't see the difference you are blind.

Above all else, if you knew a damn thing about this case, he's getting heat for the gambling aspect of this crime, not so much because he's a barbarian.

And then after crying over how horrible people are to animals you top it off with a "FREE VICK!" showing that in fact you don't give half a sh*t about animal cruelty.

So where was the question in all of this? Oh yes, "Who thinks what Michael Vick did was Wrong" Well, I do. Apparently you don't.

We live in America and have laws to follow. One of those laws outlaws dogfighting. Your argument holds no weight because the laws of this society govern what is allowed and what is not allowed and punishable. Hunting is legal. Horse racing is legal. Eating meat is legal. Just because you think it shouldn't be or think dogfighting should be legal does not make it so. Druggies believe drugs should be legal. Dog fighters think dog fighting should be legal. Domestic abusers believe their actions are their own personal business and therefore should be legal. We can't all set the rules where we think they should be and go do what we want. Society doesn't work that way. If Vick thought what he was doing was O.K. he never would have covered it up and run from the charges until recently. Just because you like Vick doesn't make him right. Wake up.

People who are making an excuse for Michael Vick are pathetic! He was supposed to be a leader of a football team, with a 100,000,000 you'd think he would grow up and give up holding a dog under the water till they drowned or choke them till they die. A mind like that deserves prison time. Hunting has been a way of life since the beginning of time. Unless you live in China, do I remember people kill to EAT Dogs! I could care less if he EVER comes back to football. He was not that great to begin with... More than 18 months is not enough.

I don't hunt. I've never been to a horse race. I don't eat meat.

Michael Vick is a moron and so are you. He didn't just kill animals, he executed them and tortured them. He wasn't killing them to eat them. He killed them because they wouldn't fight.

If there's anyone who can justify what Michael Vick did because someone eats a steak then society is worse off than even I think.

I don't hunt because I personally don't feel comfortable with it. However, when people hunt legally and do so to keep game populations within control I'm not going to have a fit about it. If they start hunting by wetting down a deer and then electrocuting it, then maybe I'll change my mind. When they decide to hang the deer or throw it off a building, then that's probably over the top.

Sheesh! You guys need to find a brain cell and share it.

Dude what Vick is guilty of is just being a MORON who refused to leave his childhood behind. He just made some rather poor choices that will in the end cost him over $80million, Look weather you eat meat or bet on the ponies or shoot Bambi just remember that is all legal. Also the fact that he lied to the Falcons and the league is what is truly disturbing, Heck I thought the whole Ron Mexico thing was kinda funny but Illegal gambling is just cool when your a pro and making serious dead presidents, Now as far as becoming a tree hugging Veggie not for me hey what do you lets get a nice thick juicy colon blocking burger and fries my treat!

First of all let me tell you where I stand with your Michael Vick dilemma; I could care less what happens to him. I’m just busting your balls because you put yourself out there. Just to clear up the difference between hunting and dog fighting here goes. You talk about hunter’s being praised and Vick being bashed for dog fighting. Well the animals that are hunted live in the environment of being hunted not only by man but also by other animals. No one is holding them against their will and if they have their wits they may get away. That is survival of the fittest. Now dog fighting is different, because if a dog does not want to fight; it’s useless. It’s so that most of the time it’s put down, not always but that’s not what Vick was doing. Dogs are forced to fight against their will for entertainment and feed only the greed of man (they want their pockets full) and not their stomach. Oh and by the way I didn’t vote for bush seen his power trip from a mile away.

I could care less for horse racing just like nascar all they do is go around in circles (boring). Hope I didn’t offend anybody with the nascar thing. Now I agree the whipping is messed up and so is the slaughter house, but like you said you’ll still eat that burger and so would I. Yes I believe they are making a big deal out of it, but that’s only because he is famous and people and kids look up to him to set the example. Personally I believe setting the example for kids should be the parents and not famous people. Had it been you or I caught dog fighting it would have been on the 2nd or 3rd page of the local newspaper. However Michael Vick should have known because he is famous his personal life is in jeopardy of becoming everyone’s business. Here is where I differ from you when you say “LEAVE MICHAEL VICK ALONE!” If he was stupid enough to get caught he should be punished,(I put my pants on just like he does one leg at a time) had it been you or me we would have been punished or fined. You could say well he may lose his job where others may not, well in my line of work I would. So there if he gets locked up he deserves it if he doesn’t I hope he learned from it. God knows there are a lot of famous people that should be locked up for doing worse things. So take a chill pill and enjoy your own life and don’t worry about others. Oh and thanks for the two points.

No way.Vick is a biatch that deserves whatever he's getting, even if it's a lifetime ban.All those things that you mentioned are just as bad(I dunno about eating meat.)but that doesn't justify Vick's dogfighting charges. If you're saying that dogfighting is OK compared to hunting, eating meat,or horse racing, then you are as screwed as your dumb questions.

Oh and by the way I never voted for Bush,I'm a Kobe hater and a MJ fan, don't try to tell me that I'm wrong.Get a life,go back to the retirement home where you belong. You telling me to lay off the crack,I bet you banging on cocaine right now!

First of all, dogs don't have the sense to fight for freedom, they just fight until one or both are dead. Even if one lives, many times the dog is so severely injured, they finally kill it so they don't have to feed it any more, not out of kindness to relieve the severe suffering.

Would you give two toddlers razor blades and put them in a ring until only one was alive?

You mentioned hunters. A true sportsman takes his time an humanely kills an animal as painlessly as possible only for food. Many deer shot properly die instantaneoulsy from a single shot. Much different than the cows and pigs that are commercially trucked or sent via rail to yards, then forced into pens, down chutes, then finally end up with a pneumatic bolt through the skull.

Horses are shot because they won't stay off the injured leg. A broken leg just leads to severe pain and infection. Again, these are another category of people who try to relieve pain in animals, not purposely cause pain for pure, sick, perverted pleasure, such as Vick seems to enjoy.

Finally, I didn't climb to the top of the food chain to eat celery. I eat the cows whose flatulence eats the ozone layer away. The more I eat, the more ozone we have! LOL!!!

Get real and stop defending criminals. Vick dug his own grave, just like criminals such as Robinson's repeated drug violations and Pete Rose's gambling. Don't do the crime and then expect to go free because of your "celebrity" status.

P.S. If "all" of us are "ignorant" because we have never been to an illegal dog fight, does that mean you have? You don't have to witness the fights to see the condition of the dogs seized from the raids....to see how injured they are and how much suffering they endure. And how so many of them have to be euthanized to relieve their pain and suffering. Not pain and suffering from a deer just shot....not pain and suffering from a cow that was just killed....the pain and suffering that the dog endured for DAYS or WEEKS before the police raided the illegal operation.

if you are experienced in the dog fighting world, please provide your full address, so that the law enforcement officers can investigate you too!

You are right, absolutely!! BUT Michael Vick
is still going to jail because he broke the law.
As far as eating meat, well, that's the law of
the jungle. Survival!! Ever see one animal
catch another, kill it and then eat it? Horrible.
At least humans are a little more merciful when
slaughtering animals for food. They don't
drown them or beat them before. Hunting is
the same way because at least the meat is
not wasted. The only hunting sport I disagree
with is FOX hunting. The fox is not eaten, not
even by the dogs.
