It's for fleas. I havent been able to find out what any possible side-effects are. It would be a good idea to call the vet and find out for sure before you give it to your pet.

I don't know exactly what it is but I do know it is effective, low toxicity to the cat and very effective for a one-time kill on fleas - it does not work long-term. The only time I've used it is when the fleas developed a resistance to Frontline and it was too soon in the month to re-treat them - it got us by for a short time. No side effects that I'm aware of.

It will begin to kill feeding fleas within 30 minutes. It is extremely safe and can be used on pregnant cats, nursing mothers, and kittens over 4 weeks old. We use it routinely on all our boarders and surgery patients in our hospital--works wonderfully! It only lasts a day or so, so is good to jump start a flea problem. Can be used as often as needed until fleas are under control. Use with Advantage for long term control.
