why did you spank your cat. he will probally never forgive you completly. cause you are NEVER EVER supposed to spank your cat! when he does something bad, your supposed to point and wag your finger at him and say NO in a firm voice. and i dont blame him. i wouldnt like a violent owner! he is a cat, not your kid. pick him up and cuddle him. spoil hm. buy him lots of treats and toys.

I played with my kitten for about an hour before falling asleep..he came back to my bed an most probably thought the game was still on not realizing i was asleep. He pounced on my arm and I reacted with a spank not realizing it was him but some sorta monsoon insect.when I realized it was him I jumped to hold him an he ran into the other bedroom where he sleeps when im not home..he dint come to me for a bad 1 hour and many times I got him to my bed an he went back to the room..it took me 2.5 hours to get him to sit beside me now..and after 3 hours he is now sleeping on my lap..its 2:54 am now..guess il call of work today an spend time with him..It broke my heart to see him scared of me..for the past 2 hours I kept cursing myself and had soggy eyes myself..And now although he is cool I cant go back to sleep..Hope he realizes I dint mean it..

You should never hit an animal (or a child or anyone else for that matter). Cats are very sensitive and independent creatures. Wouldn't you be scared if someone 10 times your size abused you? I haven't a clue what you should do, but maybe this will teach you not to hit helpless creatures.

perhaps you are trying to make a point. But just what is the point?
Probably your cat (if you had one) doesn't have the same amount of intelligence as your child (if you have one).
Of course your cat would be afraid of you now.
If your hypothetical child is of sufficent age to understand the threat/promise of a spanking and decides to misbehave anyway, then likely she won't be scared of you ... at least not by bedtime.
Most likely you can gradually rebuild your cat's trust in you ... but remember they act as though they have a limited ability of understanding.

Never should anyone hit children or animals!! No one should hit anybody!!!! The world would be better without violence! If your cat was bad, you should have just said a firm NO and gently flicked it on the nose!! Its going to be hard getting his trust back. Just spend time talking to him, giving him treats, getting down to his level showing him that you won't hurt him....again.

Cats have very fragil bone structure...never, never hit A cat. You can use water in a spray bottle to detour them.

you spanked him?? thats new... i tap my cat on the nose when he is bad, or pull at the scruff of his neck and scare him....
just be nice, make sure he knows that you are the one that feeds him, you take care of him, you clean his litter box, you do all of the nice things for him.
