Ethic is society version of what is right and wrong, morals are an individuals belief of what is right and wrong, To have Good ethics the foundation rest on Good morals, Morals are instilled in every human, it is a sense of what is right and wrong, Ethics build off of morals that are accepted by a society. It was once said by George Washington that the Philosophy of the school room in one generation is the Philosophy of Government in the next, an African proverb says that the strength of a nation lies in the home. Morals need to be strong in whats is right and wrong, there has to be a standard, that standard is God, and he gave us the Bible. If a politician followed society's view on what is right and wrong, he could be called ethical, even though his lives behind the scene an unmoral life. Ethics comes from morals in how we do business, and act in any community service role, but morals must be grounded strong in a universal standard, and that standard instilled in humans points to God, it is the notion that to kill a human, to harm a human, to steal, to be unjust is not right and wrong. If that since is lost then ethics is lost and a society is doomed to fall

The two may overlap in conversations, but there is a distinction between the two. Put simply, ethics applies to a broad range of right or wrong actions, intentions, etc. However, morals are more narrowly applied. Most often, morals involve issues like killing your spouse for cheating. In contrast, ethics would involve question of killing itself in a more broad sense.

ETHICS, a major branch of Greek philosophy, is the study of values and customs of a person or group. It covers the analysis and employment of concepts such as right and wrong, good and evil, and responsibility. It is divided into three primary areas: meta-ethics (the study of the concept of ethics), normative ethics (the study of how to determine ethical values), and applied ethics (the study of the use of ethical values).
ETHICS does not cite divine authority as a relevant source for ethical concepts, values, or behavior.
While MORALS originally had essentially the same meaning as applied ethics, it omits the analysis of the *concepts* of right and wrong, etc, and concerns itself largely with the application of such concepts - as such, it is subject to religious overotnes.
And lately it has been pretty much high jacked by religions here the U.S.A. and is often used in terms of sexual behavior, i.e. Rules or habits of conduct, especially of sexual conduct, with reference to standards of right and wrong: ex. a person of loose morals; a decline in the public morals.

The dictionary defines morals as "principles of right and wrong conduct."
Personal morals define and distinguish among right and wrong intentions, motivations or actions, as these have been learned, engendered, or otherwise developed within individuals. By contrast, ethics are more correctly applied as the study of broader social systems within whose context morality exists. Morals define whether I should kill my neighbour Joe when he steals my tractor; ethics define whether it is right or wrong for one person to kill another in a dispute over property.
Ethics are defined as a "system of morally correct conduct."
