ive always wondered what those were and every time i just spoon them out of the can before i heat it. does anybody know what the little white strip-looking things in bush's baked beans are lol?

It is called salt pork. It's salt cured pig's fat used for flavor. But it's not smoked, & is much fattier and saltier than bacon. Used by cooks for flavoring in the South and New England in things like Boston Baked Beans.

I never noticed them.
If they are white strips, maybe bacon fat.
All I know is I love Bush's baked beans.

lard strips - really that is why they disappear when you heat it - if you get the vegetarian version there are no strips.
