I'm Italian so I think I might help.
Even though I wonder why you look for Italian songs when English ones are way better, I can think of quite a number of love songs really appreciated in Italy.
There is one singer, Lucio Battisti, really loved by Italians. One songs of his is called "un'avventura" and says something like "this love is not a star which just fades away in the morning, it will not be just a crush, it will last as long as the World lasts because I'm in love more and more and in my soul you've got a special and unique place". It's a very nice song. Another singer, Lucio Dalla, has written "Caruso", a touching lovesong but I can't grant everybody is gonna like it. "Sorprendimi" by Stadio is another lovely one and the chorus says "let's go back in the wind and spread our wings" and stuff along the lines.

My husband and I are both Italian, and our wedding was a huge reflection of that! We had Italian music playing before the ceremony, during dinner and other parts of the reception, and everyone loved it! Two CDs that we had which were GREAT were "Mandolins From Italy" (an instrumental CD with a bunch of Italian favorites) and "Dean Martin: Italian Love Songs" (with Dino's vocals, you can't go wrong!) They are both on Amazon.com These two CDs totally helped to set the mood for our Big, Fat, Italian Wedding and were a big hit!
