I can understand how it feels waiting on the results of an HIV test. I myself have had 3 in my life time and thank god they were negative. If you do happen to come up positive, (which I believe is highly unlikely), your life wont be over. There are lots of people living quite normal lives with HIV, as long as they follow their medical treatments and take the prescribed medication, it may not turn into AIDS for decades. I know that's not the results you want to hear, it's just a fact that I want to share in order to let you know that there is life after HIV. Good luck with your test results.

Its good that you're getting tested just to make sure. I'm guessing that you'll be just fine and the results will be negative.

If the unthinkable happened and you were positive, then I'd say, just try to cope with it as much as you can and get support from people close to you. After that you might as well do something with the rest of your life that you'll be proud of and feel good doing. Maybe speak to other people about hiv and how to prevent it. At least that way you make the world a better place and have an impact that most people don't make even if they live to be 90.

CALM DOWN.
Although it's possible, from what you described, I wouldn't freak out. I doubt you have it.

If you do have it, you will be OK. I have worked in hospitals before with AIDS patients, and it's simply a disease. Unfortuanately, the process of aquiring hiv leads to shame. You have not done anything different than many many other people. Lots of people are afraid of the disease, but if they were well educated, they wouldn't be.
It's a tough thing to handle, but there have been so many advances in medicine that many hiv patients live long, relatively healthy lives.
It's fantastic you have decided to be tested. Catching it early is key.

Although I really doubt you have it. :)
Good luck, and try not to stress.

That's rough. I'm not a doctor or anything, but I've taken several years of biology courses, and the chances of you contracting HIV without actual penetration is rare. Like less than 1% rare. Even though the virus constantly changes, it has a horrible time surviving outside of the human body for more than a few minutes.

Well, do you know if your ex has HIV? Also, unless he transferred blood or semen to you, you probably don't have HIV. Saliva doesn't carry the disease, so don't worry about the kissing. Anyways, good luck =)

If you do have HIV, take a calm breath, because the doctor that tested you will help you cope with everything and tell you what to do. You can start treatment and join support groups that'll help you with it.

when I had mine my whole life flashed before me. I'm not a very religeous but I def prayed that day. I set my mind to what I would do if I had it and just prepared myself for the worst case scenario and thought of all the things I would do differently.
I tested negative and broke down and cried anyway....relief. One thing the counselor told me...TRUST NO ONE WITH YOUR SEXUAL HEALTH. ONLY PERSON YOU CAN TRUST IS YOURSELF.
One thing I learned from that experience is I will NEVER put myself at risk again. What does it cost to go and get tested before having sex with somebody, I bet they would respect you in the morning!! and to just use condoms anyway ..it will do no harm and the piece of mind is what counts.
I bet its less stressful then waiting for test results...
I wish you all the luck and if it doesn't turn out negative.....use it in a positive light....enlighten people about your experience, educate yourself..
be well.

If you have never had sex with him why bother. Also if you were not engaged and or not having sex were you just dating casually?

There are two test. LA Times ran an article stating that there is a strain of HIV that is undetectable to the standard test.

Good Luck!

Holy crap. Next time use protection, even for something like that. It's your fault if you get an STD if you didn't.

Oh, and suicide isn't cool. Just realize that if you do end up getting HIV, with treatment you'll be able to live a lot longer than the length of time it will take for a bus to run you over.

Having HIV is not the end of the world. They have medicines that can help you cope. I don't think you do have HIV. It is highly unlikely. And it is almost highly unlikly to get a STD from kissing (except for warts and if they have open cuts)

ok ur chances on it being positive is slim.. hiv cannot be transmited through saliva and if u havent had sex with him u should be ok i dont think just rubbing can give u hiv and its not likely that his pre fluids could have entered u if u werent having sex. good luck with everything i hope everything turns out fine
