My cat was up for 3 days too. he was in a tree in the middle of a dog pen. Make sure there is nothing like a dog or cars scaring him. Get the food can and hope he jumps. If you can get him down far enough you can knock him on down (sounds mean but if it works..) with a broom. Fire depts and tree services won't come or will charge a fortune. My husband used a deer hunting tree stand to climb up and get one of our cats. Do you know a hunter or is there an outdoors store you can find a hunter at?

Poor kitty. After three days he'll be pretty hungry, so maybe you can coax him down with lots of soft, soothing talk and a can/bag of his favorite food that he can see and hear. Also, get as high up the tree as you can with a ladder or something, so he can see that he won't have to climb all the way down.

Get a ladder and put it against the tree. Then you climb up the ladder and get your cat down. The poor cat! It must be starving and scared, because it doesn't know how to get down.

Been up for 3 days??? Buy a can of cat food, open it up and put it on the highest branch you can reach to coax him to you. By now, your cat should be starving (not to mention extremely dehydrated)!!! You need to call the fire department (no kidding here) to get a very long ladder to get your cat or call animal control for advice on who can get the cat down for you (they may advise a tranquilizer, but I'd be afraid of your kitty falling from the tree and getting injured).

Once you get your cat out of the tree, take him to the vet for a thorough check-up and IV fluids (like I said, he will be VERY DEHYDRATED and will need them)!!

Good luck!!

Call a tree service--they are in the yellow pages of the phone book. They have equipment to climb tall trees, but it'll probably cost you something!

If you turn on the chainsaw the cat will come down one way or another.
