ok, so i meat this really great guy, and hes such a sweet guy, weve gone out a few times, but ive decided that he just isnt for me, and i dont wanna lead him on. hes someone who should be with someone much more higher maintence than me.

Just come out straight and tell him your feelings.
If he's a really great guy, then he might be able to understand.
Maybe you could stay friends

Don't write a letter, tell him face-to-face. Tell him exactly what you've told us. This happens to everyone at one time or another, but a letter is very cold and "John" doesn't deserve it.

that's not a Dear John letter. just tell him you're not interested. a Dear John letter is when you write a letter to a soldier overseas and tell him you won't be waiting when he gets back.
