My C drive apparently had a game downloaded directly to it. Since then the game was uninstalled. However there is a windows icon there now. Like one you get if you click and it's an unknown program. Any suggestions on how to get the C drive icon back?

Try this.
In windows explorer
right click on the C drive
click Properties
near the top.. on the General tab
there is a white text box.
Is there anything in this box?
If so.. delete it and click ok
The drive label should go back to "Local Disk (C:)"

Maybe rebuild the Windows desktop icon cache. Try changing screen color depth.
