Being a municipal ticket, I really wouldn't bother getting an attorney. Obviously if you want to, go ahead and get one. But in the end, your attorney fee will be more than the $120 ticket.

Just because there was a minor error on your ticket doesn't mean you will automatically get out of it. There is a chance, but a slim chance. Unfortunately, Cops screw up tickets all the time and most of them don't get dropped. Allot of times it is rushing the ticket and making stupid errors.

Either way, good luck!

If you don't pay the Courts will issue a warrant for your arrest, and those "evil" LAPD officers will arrest you and take you to jail.

It's a clerical error on the ticket. The purpose is to help identify you. There are probably also physical descriptors on the ticket.

Clerical error, won't help you get out of the charge. Just pay the ticket and get on with life.
If you really want to pursue a fight, talk to a lawyer BEFORE the fine is due.

It wouldn't affect your drivers license anyway because it is a pedestrian ticket; however, you could get in trouble for nonpayment and that would go on your credit.

P.S. what cop gives tickets for walking on a red? He/she must have had nothing better to do that day.

If you name and address are correct, they will have no trouble locating you when a 'failure to appear' warrant is issued. I'll bet the $120 that I could convince the judge the letter WAS correct but my handwriting was bad.

Clerical mistake. Unfortunately, if they still have your correct name, then you are still on the hook.
