The bible talks about the tree being a tree of knowledge and evil, where did the apple story come from?

I wonder why they started referring to it as an apple,though.
The Bible just says it was fruit.

It was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam was told not to eat of that tree. He was given a choice. The serpent got to Adam through Eve and He disobeyed the Lord. Sin entered the world, and the rest is History.

It wasn't the apple in the tree but the pair on the ground.

In Genesis it was not called an apple but it is still referred to as a fruit. So I am not sure what it was.
My husband says it was an avocado, since it was something that caused sin. And he hates avocado's. What's your guess on what it really was? Or is it even a fruit that we know of?

well its either something that grows on trees or a smart gay guy. and since eating a gay guy out would be gay, well you know where this is going...
and also you know the term "adam's apple"? which is how you know if its a guy or not, although Ive also seen some girls with an apple there...

actually if you read carefully in Genesis they ate a fruit. nowhere did it say it was an apple. so now you have to wonder where the apple idea came in.

read the rest, god asked them not to eat the apple from the tree, it was a test, and they obviously failed genesis, read it all
