SWIM, I say this kindly and with no mean intentions. You need to get help. If your family does not want to help you. Ask the school counselor or someone you can trust if there is some kind of counseling and or therapy that you can get.
It may very well be a chemical in balance. I am not a doctor, but I know the right one can help you out!

I'm not sure I can help stop it, but I can tell you that you're not the only one that deals with such things.
These thoughts could stem from several things. However, if they've come on unexpectently and not related to any any one traumatic incident, I would lean toward a chemical imbalance.
I think you should talk to your parents, tell them what is going on and ask them to help you setup and appointment with a psychiatrist. This doesn't mean you're crazy. Psychiatrists are specially trained to help discover the cause and can prescribe medications that can help correct. Remember your parents love you. This might upset them a bit, so be prepared, and remind yourself they're just worried and they love you.
If you really can't talk to your parent to get help, then try another family member such as grandparents or aunts and uncles. School counselors are always a great resource too.
In the meantime, when thoughts of suicide come up remind yourself about all the good things in life, as korny as that sounds. When you feel your temper slipping, step away for a minute and count to ten.
Good luck!

You don't say how old you are and I assume you are a young teenager. Things may seem bad now, but people change and you've still got a lot to look forward to in your life. Talk to your parents about your brother and how he's giving you a tough time. Hormones play a large part in this period of your life which can effect moods etc so eating healthy foods and just relaxing (nice hot baths) can let you have time to yourself. As for your short temper (I know it shounds lame, but it works) count to 10 when you feel really mad before you say anything - the best approach is to walk away and leave the situation; this makes you look like the better person and avoids conflict. You obviously have friends because you sleep over at their houses so use them for support at this difficult time. I hope some of that has made sense! I've never felt suicidal but I've certainly had seriously bad moods and wishing my sister was dead. Feel free to e-mail me about anything.

Well, don't invalidate your anger. You don't have to kill anybody. Just acknowledge that you're angry and that it's OK to be angry. You don't need to justify it to anyone. You might want to kill yourself as a way to punish your family for their infractions.
Try to find a better way to express your anger. You can give the cold shoulder. You can go to another room or out of the house when your brother bugs you. You can get a tattoo. You can try to tell your family that going out for your favorite stuff when you're not there really bothers and hurts you. All of these things are better and less permanent solutions than killing yourself. Think about what the best way to let them know you're angry is. Only you can make that decision.

well the best way to get rid of those thoughts is by thinking of good things. For example your friends or your pet, a nice memory, or something funny that has happened to you. Also think of all of the things in life that you would miss out on if you commit suicide.
And as for the short temper towards others(your brother).... look at him and smile. Look at him with love because he is your brother and you are very blessed to have him. Many people would die to have their brother back. Remember both you and him will have to die one day, so make the best of the time that you have together. There has to be something about him that you love.

Wow, sounds exactly what I went through. I can only say I felt the same way, but now, it is different. I rethought my life, realized things will be different in the future. Your little brother will grow up, and soon you will be able to go to your favorite resturaunt on your own. I'm only 15 so this was quite recent I went through this. I will say, I never attempted it but had serious thoughts. I promise you though, if you look to the future and see that things will get better, than you will feel better.
Alot of teenagers fill that way though. Just something you go through in life, its about overtaking it and not doing what you "think" you want to do. Be strong!

It sounds like, like me, you have anger issues...A rather powerful hatred towards a member or members of your family- I have it towards my little sister.
Not just when I'm angry either [though truthfully 95% of the time I am angry] I think to myself, if she was never born, I'd be an only child and I'd not have to be sad about her not being there because she wouldn't have existed.
I'm guessing the strong dislike for your brother has stemmed from your anger problems and has snowballed - Normal jealousy and the whole typical little sibling annoying you thing I think you could probably handle - It's just the fact you have such a temper for whatever the reason and your brother seems to increase it...
I'm guessing that it kinda feels like your brother and the rest of your family are acting like a family together and it feels like you are being excluded? That's evident from the way you talk about them going to your favourite restaurant when you're out - It feels to you as if they are trying to spite you.
I am not saying that they are necessarily trying to spite you as such...Perhaps they do not know it is your favourite place to go...Or perhaps it's THEIR favourite place to go aswell...But either way, the strong dislike for your brother in the way you describe is not normal sibling rivalry, in my opinion from your strong feelings on the matter you probably have clinical anger problems
Hope I cleared things a little...I'm only 13 but I've been through a lot

"life is very short and theres no time for fussing and fighting my friend" -the beatles
Life is NEVER worth ending for something like this. But instead of imagining yourself dead, imagine everyone ELSE dead. it will make yo ufeel alot better. when your mad at someone, write a letter to them, getting all your anger out, say mean things, then, stuff that envelope in a drawer. that way you wont regret it later. If yo userisouly think about suicide, get help from a pyschologist or therapist! they help!!!

One thing you might try is before you let them push you to the point of rage you need to walk away and count to 100 to calm down or picture yourself some place that makes you truly happy. Another thing I can suggest is having your parents take you to a doctor where you can be put on a mood stabilizer. You may be experiencing a chemical imbalance that is causing you to be so short tempered.

DON'T THINK ABOUT SUICIDE,
just because your family doesn't like you.
now a days the concept of family is overated.
think of family as the first in line to betrayed you.
concentrate on yourself and forget about your friends,
they are good for nothing any ways, no body cares!!!
so you should start caring about yourself,
and love yourself, we all know that no one else does!!!
you say you get angry easily, well get mad at life for dealing you these cards...
and strive in school and work
go to college and pay no mind to distractions
choose a lucrative carrer learn to be indepedent not co-dependant.
forget about friends and boyfriends they just drag you down.
if your family don't want you around have them send you away to college,
get lots of properties, and money and once you think you had enough get some more,
don't take shi*t from no one....
and take care
