I'm laughing over this idea as my creative mind goes into overdrive.
And God comes in the evening to see Adam and Eve and to walk with them in the Garden. He sees that they are still out in the open and have made a small campfire. So, God comes up to them and finds out what they are eating. They tell him that the snake was being naughty and decided to eat him instead of the forbidden fruit.
I'm not sure how God would handle that one, but I think he would smile at their cleverness in deciding to eliminate the source of temptation.

It would still be a sin (they were given plants, seeds and leaves to eat: fruits and veggies), but not against the only DO NOT God mentioned, so we might have been ALL living in the Paradise Garden!! Wouldn't that have been wonderful? But didn't happen; and that is what the New Earth is all about that's coming in the millennial reign! God didn't change His mind or plan, those who CHOOSE IT. The next perfect garden with NO SIN can't be ruined by rebellion, deceit, or the devil.
Get in on it!! Invite Jesus to BE your Lord and allow it to happen and you will have a Paradise relationship; now and in eternity!!

Not until they "ate the apple", and I am not altogether sure what the "apple" signified. I have read different suggestions. God did create the institution of marriage, not man. Adam and Eve were "married" in the eyes of God, so they were not "living in sin". Hawaii probably did not exist then. I think the Bible says the whole earth was one landmass at that time, if I remember correctly. I do not think that God wanted to see them "fall". I think he wanted them to be perfect. I believe God was rooting for them, hoping they would pass the test. Then, even after the fall, he did not give up on them. "Intellectual jousting", that is really what it is all about, isn't it? A lot of atheists just seem to want to see Christians discomfited, I think.

The serpent did not really do anything wrong itself, just a snake. Satan operating through the snake did.
If they had left the fruit alone, they would be living today in perfect health and all of us would never have gotten in the trouble we have been in.

Then instead of people always saying, "It tastes like chicken," we'd say "It tastes like serpent."
Actually, as I understand the myth, Adam and Eve were not accustomed to eating meat at that stage--they were strictly vegetarian,--so it wouldn't have occurred to them to slaughter and eat the serpent. Still, this is my favorite question of the day.

Interesting idea. Adam and Eve committed the original sin, so..... without the serpent tempting them to sin ... then .....maybe ...... we would all be living in the Garden of Eden nudist camp.

They would have had to kill the bastard. Being pure and sinless they did not know what to kill was.
Besides, they had pure natural clean appetites and knew better than to crave the flesh of a scaly conniving cold blooded walking and talking, loser with a venom oozing mouth.

It would have been cannabalism, since the snake was not actually a snake, but a humanoid who walked on two legs and had intelligence. "Serpent" (nachash) refers to it's character.

Might have tasted good going in but how would it have felt coming out?
Reminds me of a line in Rocky: You're gonna eat lightning, and crap thunder!
P.S.
Anyone who truly believes that animals can't distinguish between good and evil has clearly never owned a Jack Russell terrier.

Well the serpent was the devil and they'd probably be in worse shape then they were, which was bad enough and look where it got them. Could it be any worse then it is, this world.
