I don't know why people become atheists, maybe from their home environment? A teacher filling them with bs. (I had a science teacher in college who wanted the class to prove we came from frogs. The whole class rebelled and he ended up losing his job!) It's people like that who make you doubt, it's the devil who fuels that doubt.

They must especially not believe if they think they have to make their own future. ie, they're rich and famous because they are so smart, etc. They must not have faith or trust in anything? I don't know, me entire family and close friends are all Christians. I can't imagine NOT being a Christian!

Actually yes. The normal human believes in God so if we don't we have an imbalance relative to the norm, and thankfully so. Now you understand why we can't choose to believe, since it's a chemical brain process just like all other thoughts. We have no free will and neither do you.

You are exactly correct, sir.
We have a chemical imbalance that blocks out the beliefs of ghosts, aliens, Jesus, and the Easter Bunny.
I already checked to see if my insurance would cover brain surgery to remove this blockage.
Unfortunately, not mine nor any other insurance company seems to think that disbelieving in bullsh!t is a chemical problem with the brain.

Why would you say chemical imbalance, I find that odd because as an atheist I've looked at both sides of the coin. So I'm pretty much balanced, I've read the bible, it just doesn't jive with me. Do you know what faith is? It's wishful thinking. As far as hell, show me hell, then we'll talk.

We Atheists don't see any evidence for God and/or don't think that the concept of God is logically plausible. If there is something in the brain that "blocks" the ability to have faith in God, I would say it an enlarged cerebrum, which is the part of the brain that allows us to think rationally and critically.

If there is an imbalance in my brain that blocks me from wishful thinking, which is all faith is, you should be so lucky to have the same imbalance.

Yes, what imbalance is causing you to deny Santa Claus? The imaginary evidence is everywhere.

If I go to Hell for being a good person and thinking rationally rather than following someone with an irrational claim, I do not think that god deserves worship.

Everybody is born an atheist. If he is not introduced to religion, he will not become religious. Almost all my friends are irreligious, even though some were from religious homes, because all of them had a good science training.

Some people hear voices. They are not atheists, to be sure.

A chemical imbalance that prevents delusions!

I'll take it.

Actually just the opposite. Atheist are clear thinkers. Theists are delusional. Do you really believe the universe was magically created by a pink invisible unicorn? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?
