this alarm has been nothing but problems i lost the remote to deactivate it. i just want to disconnect it all together and abandon it and not use it any more. the problem i am having is i have to disconnect the battery to start it and after i start it i have to connect the battery for all the lights to work when i do this the lights flash and the horn beeps for 3 minuites until it completes its cycle.

please help fellow maxima owners or mechanics

1994 nissan maxima sohc american model.

well the alarm is on the top left side
then you just cut the wires
then under the dash board on the driver side
there is a switch you should turn that off
and dats it

Try this just unplug the Code Alarm box under the driver seat. Just remove the white plastic flat plug. I think I did that acouple years ago and never heard any problems after that. Now your back to lock and key only and I think the power locks will still function once for drivers side and once again for all unlock. There may be some remotes available on line, You push the yellow button on the code alarm until the weird tone and push a button on the remote and another weird tone then the remote is ready to work. Check your fuse box or look for the fuse box diagram in the owners manual. If it has a fuse just for the alarm system, pulling it may disable the alarm.
