I know this sentiment is expressed often here, but I just felt like venting.

I KNOW CHRIST DIED FOR MY SINS AND HEAVEN IS A GIFT.

If the question is did "Christ die for my sins?", that is the time for that answer. Otherwise, please assume I know.

If any Christians would like to take an honest stab at my Q:

@ :
A.) Because it is possible that I won't go to Heaven (I'm atheist, but to go along with the hypothetical)
B.) For inquiry's sake. No one knows what Heaven looks like. Since we can't be sure, we have to be open to the possibility we will not be content.

Satan was not content - so that leaves the possibility open of us not being content.

Well, they certainly have mastered the function of cutting and pasting mind-numbingly lengthy Bible passages.

Edit: Oh, I almost forgot....Christ died for your sins, James

Okay, I think that I know how to answer you. Something that you are most likely unaware of.

God didn't just make humans out of flesh. He made them in His own image, according to what I read in the Bible, and so if we take the Bible's word for it, Men are also spirit because God is also Spirit.

At first, none of it died. It wasn't made to die. And then the whole thing with Adam happened. And then that changed what humans were. It is even supposed that the organs changed inside of Adam and Eve, they were no longer built for eternity.

What I am saying is that though the flesh begins to die like a new car is devalued as soon as it's driven off the lot, our bodies begin to die. But our spirit has no expiration date. There is no ending.

So the Spirit is moving on after the flesh is discarded. You are right! There is no choice to exterminate yourself. You can do that with your flesh, but since; if what I am saying is true, you cannot do that with the spirit then you are stuck 'on' all through eternity.

If you never had a spiritual experience, then I suppose it would be difficult to imagine what I am saying. But if you have had a spiritual experience, then you might know what I am talking about. It's different; the spirit. Even the way you are aware or perceive things is different. That's the eternal part which is so more capable of perceiving things.

So here's my conclusion:
When you get to heaven, I am totally convinced that there will be no one who won't want to be there. Everyone will have their senses blasted with something that I think most people never imagine. The one's who are not in Christ ( I read this in the Apocrypha at one time) will feel left out, and impossibly separated with no chance of retribution. They might stick around for a time, but since they are separated they will not be able to join. They will instinctually know that they can not be a part of what God has going on. (Some say that's why there's weeping, and a gnashing of teeth; they are bitterly sad. )

So the answer I give you is: You haven't seen anything that God has planned for the afterlife, why would you automatically assume that you won't want to be there?

This is a religion and spirituality forum. You can expect people to quote from their Holy Books in order to answer questions. Why would you expect any thing else?

Sending you a smile to help pick up your day.

Copy/Paste is a very common strategy, although it certainly is not the optimal solution.

If Yahoo would delete the accounts of copy/pasters before they started targeting contributing members, things would be a lot better off.

I generally give a thumbs-down to the novel-length copy/paste answers... they don't show any thought!...

I sometimes copy/paste a url, but only as a reference... AFTER I give my 2 cents worth, give people somewhere to get more in-depth info on what I said, maybe even why I said it...

The trick is getting Christians to answer questions by quoting more than the bible.

I just answered your other question. But to answer this one as well, I would have to say that some Christians just as robotic in their answers as some atheists.
