I found my cat as a stray. She was this dirty, bony kitten who purred nonstop when she was held. I fell in love with her and I made a promise that I would never let anything bad happen to her.

She was very sick at first and she almost died, but now she is healthy. Even though I know that she is healthy, I still think about how sad it will be when she dies. Sometimes it almost hurts to love her because I know that one day I will actually lose her. I came so close to losing her before and I don't ever want that to happen. :(

Do you have those feelings about your pet? How do you handle them?

enjoy your kitty ... she knows how much you love her and when the day comes you can take comfort in knowing that you saved her life and both of you brought each other happiness don't worry about tomorrow

hey girl!
wow ... i found my cat almost the exact same way. except he was so congenial that he wasnt bony. My cat meows for attention every moment of his life! haha. Any whooo i totally understand your feelings. I found my cat as a stray and i think he was about a year old. hes about 5 now. and as you know cats at most live about to around 10 some even up to 15 years. I've also been thinking recently about it. It really sucks, i start crying because i'll never hear his meow and he'll never sleep on my stomach or lick my fingers. It's going to be hard, but as much as we'd love to keep them forever, they are eventually going to die someday. What i do, honestly is make sure i'm always nice, treat him everyonce in a while, even spoil him with attention. If your really scared maybe you can take alot of pics and just keep them in a album. I've done it :D. Take some video as well. Because as hard as it is to let go..your still going to miss your cat, and i would love to see things my cat did... Omgsh this is such a long answer. any ways. i love my cat as you do. and all i can say is treasure every moment. and make sure they are cared for well. i hope your cat is alright...

oooo and if she is getting older... *and if you have her outside* try convincing your parents to let her stay inside.

eeek so long!

anywhooo hope this helps!

I have the same fear with my cats. But I do know for a fact that if you keep your cat happy healthy and love it. It can live for a very long time. My uncle had a cat that was the runt of the litter and everyone thought it would die but that cat lived to be twenty eight years old and was very healthy and happy til the day he passed. And my sister has a cat that is fourteen now and still going strong. My advise is be care full with your kitty but don't dwell on it. Love it and have fun.

I had a half blind mangie stray I took in after it bit me because I was trying to catch it, to keep it off the road

I kept him for 4 years and he was mostly healthy but had an aneurism and had to be put down

By far it was the saddest day of my life

Enjoy your kitten while you have her, and mourn when she goes.

Cats will hang around for a few days after they pass to say goodbye or just hang on, then go on as a kitten elsewhere.

The joy is worth the loss

i had that feeling about my hamster and eventually it died =..(

both my hamster caught a wet tail disease in another word "diahhrea" which is really severe to hamsters and rodents and thats when it hit me thAt i will never again buy another hamster. Maybe in the furture but at this crucial time...no. i never have those feelings for my very CUTE! DOG. SHE IS A WEINER DOG BUT SOMEHOW I DONT HAVE thos feelings. maybe because thats the the circle of life...we all die someday and move on...whats the point of worrying about death when it is going to happen eventually but as for disease and wealth affiliated issues...just take real good care of it and tere shouldnt be a problem. hoped this help.

Enjoy your cat. My cat had terminal cancer. He was given three months to live. For the first month I just worried about when the cancer was going to reappear. After the first month I decided to enjoy the time we had left together. He lived for five months after the diagnosis. It was very painful to lose him. Unfortunately we outlive our pets. I've learned to be grateful for every minute that we had together.
