Humans seem able to selectively forgive most “Sins” easier than they can forgive someone who tells them not to judge each other.
Humans seem able to hate other humans for not believing what they think are the words of god.
So if you believe everything Jesus taught why don’t you believe that “God is love?”
Christ taught that we must become like Children to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Children have not learned language, culture, religion or taboos. If someone has unconditional love why would they have to know any religion or scripture?

Oh my people aren't liking my questions and answers. I'm seeing violations. I hope this question stays up. For those who know about such things consider the words about powers and pricipalities... It's all good we already win via the spirit of Christ.

If motivated by unconditional love I can't sin. Hence the commands of Jesus.

That's exactly the love I'm talking about. I don't know or care if there's a heaven. I'll do right even if it sends me to hell for breaking a rule. Unconditional love isn't rainbows and sunshine, it's willing to take a beating for someone just because they're someone. I don't need anything but the love of God.

I don't believe everything that the Bible says Jesus taught. How in the world would they know anyway? It was all written down hundreds of years after Jesus' time.
However I do agree with some of your ideas about unconditional love. Sadly, humans want to be paid to love. Christians are no exception. Why do they love Jesus? Ask them, ask yourself why....you love him because of what he did, does, will do for you. If he was some stranger on a bus, some wino on the street, some lost and lonely hitchiker trying to get from one homeless shelter to another, would you love him? If he showed up and needed a lot of help from you without giving you anything in return except lice or hepatitus, would you help him? I think not. Christians should ponder this. All religious people should think on this, Why would you help anyone? If you do it purely for love, that is the only correct reason. All other reasons are prostitution of one kind or another. Doing it to earn your place in Heaven is selfish. Doing it to stop suffering because you see God in this poor suffering one and needing or wanting no reward whatsoever for your deed is unconditional love.
Easy to say, difficult to practice.

That's what all of us came to this earth to learn. The "Agapa" love, which means unconditional. We wouldn't be here if we knew how to behave accordingly. We all "fall short," or mess up once in a while.

The 10 "Commands." were more like The Ten Questions in it's original form. Have you loved the Lord your God...? The first one capped the rest. If you did love... you then didn't steal, murder, lie etc.
Love is the most important and the least understood. It's okay too, as that's what we are here for. To learn how. I would say none of us know how to love. (I don't use that as an out for myself, but for others.)

There is also a saying, "Love without acting upon it is dead. 'Works' without Love is useless also."

Some people get stuck on words. Can relate to a word, but when another religion has a counterpart word for the same thing, these people literally freeze up, eyes glazing over.

The word "sin" is used a lot,
meaning "mistake." It's alright to make a mistake if you learn from it. As parents, we know that. It doesn't mean the child is condemned to the basement for all his life because he made some "bad" choices, although you may WAnt to put him there if he KEeps harming your other kids.

It is hard to believe in such a God when people places "strings" on it. Especially when they get these ideas out of a book that is claimed to be directly from God (without error). I'm not sure how someone can see unconditional love when one of the basic teachings given is "God loves you so much he sent his son to die for you... but if you don't love him, then you will be tormented for eternity in a fiery hell".

They wouldn't need to know any religion or scripture. You are right... it is about doing the right thing, even when it seems to be breaking the rules.

As for forgiveness, in the Biblical sense, I find it fascinating that Jesus himself asked God to forgive the very people who were killing him, yet many of Jesus' followers can't forgive other people for being different than they are.

Gnostica.. only having unconditional love would be imbalanced. The Father is conditional, the law and it's consequences. The Mother is unconditional, Jesus was the chosen one and so are all of us. Yet he was always looking to the Father for the next thing to cross off his list.

The reason we think that unconditional love is the only real love may be because the conditions that have been put on us have not been very loving. But a child must know and lovingly and persistently be kept to the conditions of his life purpose in order to feel compassion for self and others. That is also the way to competence.

We must train our children and others up in the way they must go and that takes being parents who are competent at both types of love.

Unconditional love isn't worked or applied by religion but a "Relationship" with God the Father, Jesus Christ, His Son, and the Holy Spirit, who draws all people to Christ. When one comes to Christ receiving the unconditional love of God, God places within them His nature of unconditional love and it is this same love that will be perfected in us when Christ return for his Bride. And it is this same love that will lived out in the new heaven and the new earth in Revelation chapter 20-chapter 22.The Scriptures are not just for our records but to the sake of those who don't believe, and yet refused God's Unconditional love, Mercy and GRACE...

The theory of unconditional love is wonderful...but to put it into practice and actually experience it, that would be another story.
Humans are just that...human...none are perfect. And just because people do not belief in the faith of christianity, or do believe in it for that matter, does it mean that either are any more able to practice unconditional love.
I believe that there is one God, and any path you take to make it to that destination is ok with me...as long as you do not tell me I am wrong for my beliefs and my experience, or condemn me to an eternal hell as it may be that i do not believe in.
I do believe that the term "unconditional love" can only be practiced by god....regardless of what god/goddess you believe in.
All are valid in my eyes as in the eyes of many.

Do not get me wrong, i do believe that jesus was a great man and teacher, but he is not the only one...there were and are many.... Now, if only the people who claim to follow the paths of the teachers could be more like them....

Blessings to all

Of course! I believe that Satan often uses other people, who could be called our enemies, to get on our nerves and try to make us think that God doesn't care. According to 1 Peter 3:9, as you posted, God commands us to not repay evil for evil; rather we are to bless and love back, even though Satan is out to get us. Also, you have to realize that only God can give perfect unconditional love in all cases; humans, even Christians who are trying to model Christ's love, will not be perfect.

You are so right. Every religion teaches this, but in some (especially Christianity) there is a tendency for followers to wander somewhat into the more unique aspects of their religions.

For example, it seems that there are a few Christians who know the bible so well they can recite anti-Pagan passages, and proclaim their God the 'one true God' (which, incidentally, seems to be a title shared with the other 'one true God' of Islam).

But they fail to see the point, that religion is all about peace and love. Not just for followers, but for everyone.

Unfortunately we are all blighted by the ills of humanity, and we all have our shortcomings. Even the most loving of us have times when we feel intolerant towards others.

I only hope that at least one of us here on Answers can eliminate this enemy within, and become TRULY unconditional in love. I already know that a few of us (just a handful) are already on this path (I have been watching and I can confirm that you are one of them).

So I wholeheartedly agree, God is love. To find God, one must love unconditionally, as He does.

God bless

Have you received violations about this question? I hope not sister. You are correct that God is unconditional love. The cross clearly demonstrated the depth and wonder of God's love for each of us.

I don't understand why it is so difficult for people to believe that. Most of us never experience such love from others. We are expected to be perfect, to conform to standards, etc. I think it makes it hard to picture a God who loves us just the way we are.

God bless you sister!

Christ said:" Only through me can you enter the kingdom of Heaven. I am the Truth, the Light and the Way."
I am not a christian, but I can understand this statement and accept it's teaching.
As you noted, Christ is about Love. Therefor, it is through Love of that kind that one reach 'heaven'.
Why do people find this hard to believe? I don't think they really do, but they think their particular religion has the trademark and patent on this path. They're wrong, of course, they don't.
" Love is the Law, Love under Will. "
