I want a good one where I can have the background be black n white and me be color and things like that

You can easily do this thing with Photoshop like black/white background, color, or whatever. However, I'm not sure what you want to ask.

If you want to ask why it is so popular, it's because:
- It is popular.
- Fairly easy to learn if you want to improve the quality of your taken pictures.
- Easy to make effects.

However, if you want to master photoshop (doing with really cool stuffs, it is not easy)
