You are getting sore muscles from soccer because either a) your cleats are too tight or b) you are not warming up and cooling down before playing soccer. Both warming up prior to the game and cooling down after the game with repetitive exercises is extremely important to prevent sore muscles. Once you have sore muscles, there's not much that you can do about them. You can try soaking in a jacuzzi or a hot bath, putting a heating pad on the sore muscles, or rubbing odor free Bengay on them. Take a supplement that has glucosamine and chondritin in it, such as Move Free Advanced, and in the future, try to prevent the muscles from getting sore instead of trying to treat them once they are already sore.

it will hurt like crazy if you do it the next day, its best to give it a day if your muscles are aching and just relax..put some tigerbalm on and you should be good to go the day after.
muscles tear when you work out on them and when they heal you either get better tone or bigger size depending on what you were going for. so if you keep working out on it and not let it heal it wont help your workout.

Take a rest for the torn muscles to heal, then go back. You should take your workout easy. Of course eventually you will not experience any aching.

no thast the worst thing! make sure u warm (streches and strech wehn u have finsihed exercise and focus more on stretches than the actual work out! if u stretch before and after worik out u hsouldnt ache the next day! unless u are doing a work out that ur body cannot cope wiht in that case jsut do a little less in ur next work out and REMEMBER ur streches! thats the most important bit the stretches! if all else fails a long hot bath! and rest no work out untilll stoppped ahcing

I think it would be better if you have a days rest in between training sessions to allow muscle to scar over and build....depends what you're training for. If you feel the need to train...try working a different muscle group on alternate days.

A bath with Epsom salts. Epsom salts contain magnesium which can be absorbed through the skin to relieve sore muscles. Those who are allergic to sulfa meds shouldn't use Epsom salts.

Are you warming up properly before you workout? I find that if I warm up and warm down with a few stretches I have few problems with stiff muscles.

Heat (hot bath/shower) initially is okay. But to keep from getting them constantly, you do want to keep working out to get the muscles used to the activity.
