Reason why I ask because engine filure seems to be common at DEI and next he had transmission problems?

At the rate things are going I would say, 'No'. And I'm a Dale Jr. fan. It's almost as if Jr's being sabotaged by Teresa so he either has a a poor finish or that he has a DNF (Did Not Finish) because of engines or other mechanical issue.

To the first poster who said that Truex is getting the hot rods. Truex had to change an engine before the race too and they both started at the end of the field. Today, Jr actually had the better car, but due to Truex staying out instead of pitting he got the track position to get him where he was. If you think for a second that DEI is deliberately giving jr the bad equipment you are crazy! Why would they not want two guys in the chase?

I hate to say it b/c I'm a Jr fan, but DEI is a fricking joke! They've got to have the worst motors in the Chevy camp. What a bunch of incompetent boobs! To make it even worse, that joke of an owner they've got is running the company into the ground with her lack of racing know-how and her lack of ability to put the right people in the right places to make up for her lack of racing know-how. She's the worst owner in NASCAR now that Ginn is out of the picture.
I hope Jr makes the chase, but I don't think he will. However, Bristol is as good a place as any for him to get a solid finish. He's good at Richmond, too, so he might be able to pick up some valuable points there as well. We'll see!

Absolutely not. He is over 150 points back and it doesn't seem to matter when he runs well because Kurt just wins. He WILL make the chase next year at HMS but this year is done as far as chase aspirations for Jr.

I don't think he will make the chase and I am a Jr. fan. The points taken away earlier this year for cheating hurt him and it seems like DEI just isn't giving him the car they used to. It seems funny that this year Truex Jr. has a hot rod and Jr. doesn't. Makes me wonder if it is intentional....

It wasn't the engine today, he missed his dang pit stall, he actually had a good race and even lead 1 lap, he can still make the chase, but he is going to need bad luck from several guys, if he has a great race in bristol and richmond, and calif he could still do this....I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and also for alot of bad luck for Kurt Busch...

Go Jr Go.....

Jr. is really not that great of a driver. He does not run very well even when the engines are not failing.
I do not think he has what it takes to make the Chase.

Even before today, JR was not going to be able to make the chase.

I don't think so. He has been having a lot of mechanical failures lately. DEI needs to get their motor problem fixed.

We were hoping that he would, but yeah his car engine keeps screwing up. Some one is not doing their job. Did they cancell todays race again? They better get the show on the road.
